Top Cabin Rentals in Millard County in 2026

I wanted to give a "more realistic" view of what I shot this night. My other shots of the Milky Way I enjoy, but I wanted to share what it looks like before I mess with it; I also really liked the clouds that moved through. and figured why not show just a single exposure.

So...
1) As you can see the ground looks blurred. This was a tracked 15 minute exposure of the Milky Way. I used an Ioptron Skyguider Pro. This allows me to take extremely long exposures of the sky with zero blurring. But the Earth continues to move, so the ground is blurry; I normally put a different exposure of the ground without the tracker to correct the blurring.
2) This is NOT what you can see with the naked eye. I could see the Milky Way here, in fact it was pretty bright this evening. But it wasn't anywhere close to this. Go out and take a 15 minute exposure of anything and you will probably get a Blown out white image, so you can image how dark the Milky Way really is. You also need extremely dark skies. The lights you see on the horizon I didn't even notice as I was taking this photo, It was probably the farm houses a couple miles away.
3) This is a single exposure. normally I do multiple exposures and blend them together. This reduced noise and increases contrast. This trip I was able to take extremely long exposures at very low ISOs so I didn't need to stack the images.
4) This is more or less what it looks like out of camera. I did a lens correction just to fix the distortion and dropped down the blacks because shooting in RAW makes everything looks washed out. but otherwise out of camera.

"The room was clean and had everything we needed; hair dryer, mini fridge, microwave, coffee and tea. They just added hand held shower heads which was perfect for my sore lower back. Best place to stay in Salina!! We didn't make it to the breakfast because the place was packed so it must have been great!! Tammy was at the front counter and she was fantastic!! Knowledgeable and friendly. Every checkin should be this easy and fun!!!"

"Clean rooms, staff very nice . Most of the eateries close at 8. I wish there was a bigger coffee option in the room. ÑWe wanted to eat at The Eatery but it was closing, however the very nice gal. was willing to fry some options as the grill had been turned off. We declined but I was very impressed by the kindness of that gal. She advised a few fast food options that were open later."
