“Friendly staff, clean hotel rooms and common areas. The building has nice old charm and is well maintained. Restaurant food was great, and was the bar, it offers a large selection of drinks. Gift shop available and coffee cafe on site was nice. Room rate was very reasonable and free parking close to the hotel. Surprised to get a personal mailed thank you note for our stay from the hotel. Shows appreciation and how classy the place is. I would surely stay again if in the area.”

“I wanted to stay at an historic place and the Lafayette fit the bill. The property was nice and clean and in a great location. The rooftop seating was so nice to relax and watch the barges navigate the river. The free breakfast in the Gun Room was excellent and the bar had great food and good service. The only negative, and its not that big of a deal was the small bathroom. I would stay here again. ”

“Was a lovely place. Very interesting decor. Reminded me of my childhood. Robert was very informative about the area. Although it seems secluded, it was 10 minutes away from restaurants and sightseeing places. Fully equipped kitchen. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.”

“This place was one of the best places we ever stayed at. So quiet and the wildlife was amazing. Birds of all kinds, deer, turkey, bullfrogs and turtles also. The lake was fun and the hiking trails were just enough for a bit of exercise. We stayed for 3 nights and never left the property. Hated to leave. Roger and Mary joined us around the campfire as my friend played acoustic guitar. Great owners!! Only suggestion we had was maybe some hooks on the wall in the main bedroom to hang some clothes.”
