Nice but a bit run down

We had a great time at Westwinds. The unit would benefit from a deep clean. The primary bathroom shower curtain was quite moldy. The kitchen cupboards and drawers were also found to be a bit dirty. Despite these small concerns, the unit was great. Bed was comfy and view unbeatable.

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We love Sandestin. Great view, location, amenities. The last few times we have gone, the unit looks clean, but the floor is filthy. You walk barefoot in your unit and your sole of your foot is so dirty. No one mops!!! You pay money for a cleaning fee, but they are not cleaning like they should.

The view from the top floor was beautiful with glorious sunset-watching from the balcony on clear nights. Posdibly the best sunset location of anywhere in Sandestin from this balcony, as the sun sets right over the ocean.Unit was well appointed with comfortable beds, roomy bathrooms, and the BEST equipped kitchen of any condo we’ve ever rented anywhere. Unit was clean when we arrived & all minor repairs/issues were addressed promptly, courteously, & efficiently.Pool area was lovely & being heated was a plus for variable Nov. weather. Hot tub always a bonus. Beach was clean & there was very little litter.Exercise room was adequate & clean. If you could add a scale that would be helpful.Having the rolling luggage carts was really nice.

Nice condo but needs a few changes

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: There were some things that needs addressed. When reporting a couple of things upon arrival, they offered to have someone come take care of it but I didn’t want our planned schedule to be disrupted from waiting on maintenance. The curtain going to the outside balcony was torn and hanging from the rod, about 2 feet on the end. Very noticeable when entering the condo. The bedroom light in MB sometimes took a while to come on. The dining room light was flickering. The remote for the kitchen tv was missing. ALL of the beach chairs and umbrella should be replaced, rusted and broken. On a positive note, everything was very clean, they have a few necessary amenities upon arrival such as a laundry pod, dishwasher pod, aloe and body lotion and soap. The view from the 21st floor was about an 8 out of 10, but still a view nonetheless. The staff checks in to see how things are going on your first day so that was a nice touch and were quick to respond to texts. Having 2.5 bathrooms was nice and most of the condo has been updated. The property grounds were maintained and has a nice pool. The beach was overly crowded so if you want a place to sit, get out there around 8:30 in the morning because this is obviously a high season of tourism. In summary, the condo was nice but not in the scale for paying over $600 a night, especially just for a place in Destin.

However, it happened again during our stay and it was a little frustrating. The customer service folks were very nice - especially Megan because my daughter left her makeup bag in the room. So Megan was super helpful and had it mailed to me immediately. I really appreciated her working with me and being so understanding.

Life at the 21st floor

This was exactly the view from our condo....all the way down the beach toward Destin. The condo itself was spacious and well appointed. The beauty of Sandestin is found on the beach, the Gulf of Mexico, the clouds, and the sky. The days were spectacular...some of the most stunning I have ever seen. The sunsets are breathtaking and we watched one every night from our balcony.

Gorgeous view & very nice condo! The beach closest could use an update or bring your own chairs and umbrellas. The kitchen is fully stocked & we had everything we needed there! We usually pack some extra trash bags, laundry pods, hand soap,& beach towels. Would suggest an update to the doors in the condo, the master bedroom doesn’t lock and the guest bathroom door has issues closing, the trifold doors in the laundry room are broken and the main patio door curtain has issues with the rod, other than that the condo was clean and beautifully decorated. We loved the location and the view was phenomenal! The pool area is nice as well as the gym. We love westwinds and will definitely return!We did have some mystery noises at night that sounded like someone was moving furniture above us but we were on the top floor…we assumed maybe it was the water pipes or utility room next door…it was bothersome the first couple of nights but we turned the fan on high and that helped mask the noise.

Fantastic view, comfortable condo

Condo was very comfortable but a bit dated. Kitchen had everything we needed; however could use a new coffee maker. Master shower needs an update and right sink had slow drain. Other than these small details, we would stay here again. We are all about a great balcony with view and this one delivered! The sunsets are amazing from this condo!

Short getaway

Overall this place was great and we enjoyed our stay! The view is amazing like pictured, the resort pools and beach access is also amazing! We did see and kill two cockroaches, I think this can be expected in these type of buildings? People mention about updates needed, I agree it could use some updating but for the price I do think this place was worth it. Unless I’m paying for. 5 star resort like sandals, I don’t expect perfection. We will return to Westwinds in the future!!
