“What a beautiful valley on the fjord! The cabin has a fantastic view out over Ortnevik to the Sognefjord. It really is stunning. We went on a couple of short hikes around the valley and totally enjoyed them. The cabin itself is comfortable with all the facilities you will need. There is a small store in Ortnevik where you can get groceries but be aware that it has limited opening hours so check with the host. I should also mention that the host was very responsive to my queries, even though he……

“10 dejlige dage hen over julen som jeg altid vil huske. En køn hytte, som er udstyret med alt hvad man kan ønske sig. Området er smukt og overvældende. Og familien, som ejer hytten er ualmindelig søde og hjælpsomme.”

“Leider hatten wir bei unserem Aufenthalt nur regnerisches Wetter. Trotzdem konnten wir schöne Tage in der Unterkunft verbringen. Es ist sauber und ordentlich und die Ausstattung lässt keine Wünsche offen. Wir waren sehr zufrieden! Nur der Weg zur Unterkunft ist etwas kniffelig, da man einen relativ steilen Weg über Wiese und kleinen Weg bis zur Unterkunft hat. Gerade bei Regen war dieser total aufgeweicht und war schon dreckig wenn man oben ankam. Ein befestiger Weg oder eine Treppe wären hier……

“This apartment was exactly as described. We thought it was pretty great! It took us a few tries to figure out the washing machine and drying racks but we got it. We appreciated the well-stocked kitchen— not just coffee and tea but cinnamon and parchment paper. too.”

“Der angegebene Kamin war nicht vorhanden. Keine Heizung im Schlafraum, teure Elektroheizung im Wohnraum.”

“Wir haben eine sehr schöne Woche in dieser Hütte nahe Balestrand verbracht. Die Begrüßung durch unsere Gastgeberin war herzlich und unkompliziert. Die Hütte ist komfortabel und modern eingerichtet. Unsere Kinder (6 und 9) haben in einem der beiden liebevoll eingerichteten Zimmer im Obergeschoss geschlafen - dies ist wie beschrieben nur durch eine Außentreppe erreichbar. Mit unseren Kindern hat das funktioniert (sicherheitshalber hatten wir ein Babyphone, das wir für den Kleinen in den ersten……

“We had a great week in the very nice house with a spectacular view at the Fjord. Nice hiking trails nearby, trips to the glacier and around the fjord are great as well.”

“Leuke huisje, mooie omgeving, prachtig uitzicht. Schitterende zonsopgangen gezien vanaf het balkon. Schoon huisje, alles aanwezig. Prachtige wandelingen gemaakt. Vooral vlak achter het huisje, maar je moet wel eerst een weg van 7 km de berg op rijden. Overal heb je de auto voor nodig. Balestrand is een klein dorpje met 2 kleine supermarktjes.”

“Herrliche Lage, direkt am Arnafjord, mit herrlicher großer Terrasse und Badestrand nebenan. Das Haus ist ganz gemütlich und gut ausgestattet. Alle Küchenzutaten, wie Salz, Pfeffer etc muss man allerdings mitbringen. Die Anfahrt von Vik zieht sich etwas, ca 30 min immer am Fjord lang, aber dafür hat man dann Idylle pur.”

“We stayed for two nights, before the ski-ing season had begun. There were building works outside on the acces road side but our bedroom faced away from them and looked up the slopes. Our bedroom was very comfortable and warm. Breakfasts were good with a good choice of options and the dinners were excellent. Hotel staff were friendly, approachable and efficient when it came to dealing with our queries. I am not a skier so I cannot comment on what a ski stay might be like, but it was a good base……

“The apartment we stayed was just furnished, with all the new furnitures and tools. All places in it are super clean, with a very large toilet with two washing machines, drying area. All things and tools are clearly described by the host or stated in the in-room menu. My family and I had a wonderful time staying there and wished that we've booked more days in it.”
