The Leaf Foundation is one of the NGOs in the area which is set out to help elephants and the forrest. Elephants which have been used in tourism or on farms before can have a good life here. Right now they have five elephants. Those are "rented" which means the local families still own them. They get money from the LEAF Foundation for health care and basic needs. As a tourist you can book different tours there and see/touch these great elephants. With booking a tour you support the local community as well.

In Cambodia's wild northwest, you'll get a chance to visit sanctuary elephants and contribute to their care. Just be careful to choose an animal-friendly sanctuary – after much research we recommend the Elephant Valley Project.
