Summer in the country, but not boring!

The house had everything you need to have a great family getaway. The kitchen appliances were all top of the line and the pool was heated and clean. The host was extremely attentive and the surrounding area had lots to do.

Kitchen is well stocked and has new appliances, the three bedrooms each had its own bathroom which was a plus, a large LR, it was a comfortable place for us. We did not use the pool or hot tub.

Positive, Negative, and Cameras All Over

Ok, the house is lovely. The pool is great. The host was a responsive and clear communicator. However, - the stove was broken. The oven door was locked and the electric igniter would click constantly even if we were not using the range. - the kitchen is not well equipped for cooking. The only two pans were tiny omelette pans. The toaster is broken. - the awning on the porch doesn’t work which seemed east enough to fix. - several of the beds are very uncomfortable - I disclosed when booking that we were renting for a family gathering. We were eight guests. It was never specified that there was a limit on how many guests we could have. However, after checking in and asking about the broken appliances and mentioning we were hosting a birthday dinner the host took the opportunity to warn me of the eight person limit for the house (first time I had heard this) AND warn me that there are cameras all over the property. This was unnecessary and extremely off-putting. Which brings me to the cameras… - I completely understand the right of the owners to have security cameras in the front and sides of the building. However the two cameras recording any activity on the porch and in the pool is creepy and invasive. And being reminded of it is petty.
