We liked our double queen room. No view but clean and comfy. Kinda strange the sink was in the main room, and it was difficult to wash face in because of the shelf right above. Friendly staff and nice continental breakfast. Lovely how property is on the river. Cool early 1900’s architecture. Liked it. Would stay there again.

Highland Dell Lodge was an adorable stay: the staff was friendly, the guests all got along, and we felt like we'd arrived at a quaint little place as soon as we set foot in the lodge. My fiancé and I were celebrating our minimoon before our wedding day. We brought our border collie, and all three of us loved it. Growing up, spending time at an auntie's family home across the river; this place was the perfect little getaway. The room was a wee bit small, but it was perfect for what we needed. The food was delicious too! The river location was ideal for spending a day at the coast, as well as driving upriver to the state park and wineries. Thank you so much.

Straight out of a Cary Grant movie this Inn welcomes you with a great room fieldstone fireplace and open rooms leading to views over the Russian River. Visit n a good day you can walk straight down to the dock and get into a canoe. Lovely porch dining with delicious Austrian cuisine. Run by a charming couple. There are walks straight into the woods, and I wish I could have stayed long her.

Parking, cleanliness, staff, and breakfast were all excellent. The view and the location are top notch. The only bummer were the lack of amenities in the room. There's no fridge or useful dresser. So make sure you either pack a cooler or plan to eat out and not keep leftovers. The bartender at the restaurant was extremely nice and kind. Overall excellent time and would come back again. Thank you!

Beautiful property and delicious breakfast. The walls are a bit thin so we could hear snoring from other guests. The staff were super helpful and very friendly. Great place to stay near the river!

This place is super cute and has a wonderful restaurant and bar. The rooms are spacious and clean with a lot of charm. The breakfast every morning was great with lots of options. My only sadness was the fact that we stayed there so we could easily launch our stand up paddle boards from the property -- but the ramp to the dock was so incredibly steep -- with no hand rails so we were too afraid to try and launch from there. I would recommend adding hand rails so the dock into the river is more accessible. We ended up having to drive somewhere to launch our SUPs which was why we chose to stay here -- so we wouldn't have to do that. Otherwise - it's a great hotel.

This is a charming old-world experience in a well-maintained hotel set in the redwoods beside the Russian River. Rooms are smalll, but clean and comfortable. We had a balcony overlooking the river, which we enjoyed. The staff was helpful and friendly. The owner is obviously very proud of his establishment and dedicated to making it a good experience for his patrons. The breakfast is ample. The attached restaurant provides a German cuisine.

The sheets and pillows were clean, the room was mostly clean, the bathroom window and ceiling and corners could use a good cleaning, the dining room room is a bit dated. But it was a great stay. The breakfast was OK, but they needed eggs and bacon and some other things. The worst thing of all was you can't get any coffee in your room or in the lobby until about 8 AM. At least put some kind of coffee machine in the lobby or a Keurig coffee maker in the room or something. I would stay here again but those are the things they could improve upon.
