Location is hidden and it’s difficult to find at first however, the area is beautiful, away from the noises. Plenty of space, rooms are very nice, located near to several attractions, downtown area is a few minutes drive. Though there was wall fixed small fans, the rooms need a ceiling fan for better air flow. Overall it’s a great place to Experience.

Beautiful spot. Very clean, lovely view, well equipped kitchen. Do note that the driveway down to the property is a bit steep, and might be tricky if you are in a sedan.

This house worked well for our family of adults. It’s close enough to town but it feels like a tree house in the woods. Great view of the Gulf of Nicoya. Communication with the host was always quick and easy.

Amazing rental house in Monteverde!

Just rent this house now and don't look elsewhere! Amazing view from the property. We saw a toucan, monkeys, coatis, agoutis, and other birds right from the porch. Close to everything in town and attractions. We had great communication with Daniela the host, and she arranged great guided tours for us. A truly incredible propety.

Amazing place to stay. All the comforts you’d need on site and a quick walk or drive to town, but it leaves you feeling like you’re kilometers from the closest person. Check in/out was very easy and convenient. Communication was excellent. Driveway may be bumpy but it’s not a problem (probably even with a 2WD vehicle).

Great hideaway with wonderful views

Even our 25 year old daughter was amazed with the views from the house. The house itself is also view nice, open and airy yet plenty of privacy. Daniela is a wonderful, attentive host. Recommend the breakfast at Abuela’s Hideout.

Beautiful house with a great view! You feel out in nature and even the monkeys came right up to the house one afternoon. Nice walking trails and good food nearby. Close to zip lining and the cloud forest.

Fabulous spot!

Our stay here was fabulous. The pictures don’t do it justice. The home is extremely clean and well taken care of. The beds are very comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped.It’s close enough to walk into the town of Monteverde and minutes to all of the excursions.We had monkeys visit our balcony and the view is incredible. To top it off, our host, Daniela was lovely and very responsive. We would stay here again!

This place is nothing short of spectacular. It was perfectly clean, the furnishing are top of the line, the setting is gorgeous, the host Daniella was so helpful and accommodating. We even saw a monkey! I highly recommend this tree house home.

The Gulf House - Home Away from Home

The Gulf House was perfect for our stay in Monteverde. It had everything we needed and more. The views were spectacular, and the property was close to town but secluded at the same time. Daniela was a great host. She was always quick to respond to our questions and to provide recommendations. She also assisted with booking various activities for us. Our favorite was the night tour with George! Would definitely recommend for your stay in Monteverde!

Great spot for family stay in Monteverde

We (2 adults, kids age 8 and 12) stayed in this house. It was very nice and a perfect base for our trip. The home is very well taken care of, with an excellent outdoor space. There were animals close by that gave a great nature feel. The playground/park outside is a lot of fun and very unique. The location is slightly off the path, though we were able to walk easy enough to the store and restaurants.

A ton of fun!

We loved staying here. Daniela was very communicative, and sent great directions, including a very helpful video - without it, we might have still been wandering around the rainforest. The house is just a few minutes from town but feels like it’s tucked away, and we were able to see plenty of wildlife from the back balcony. Enough space for all of us, and the washer/dryer was a huge bonus so we could throw in a load of laundry. Highly recommend staying here if you need a lovely, comfortable place to stay in Monteverde!

Simply amazing!

We very much enjoyed our stay at this slice of heaven! The house is amazing with everything that you might need. The host, Daniela was even more amazing, if that is even possible. Daniela was so easy to work with and communicate with. She was extremely helpful with anything we needed. The wildlife, view and charm of this house would be hard to beat. We would not hesitate to stay at this house again.

Awesome Stay!

The pictures don’t do this house justice. It’s beautiful inside and the nature outside is incredible. Small touches like including coffee, tea, board games and the yoga mat make this an exceptional Vrbo property. Daniela is exceptional with communication and arrangements. The only place I don’t go to 5 points is location and that’s only because of the road quality to get there. We had a high clearance, 2 wheel drive and still got bounced around. No way I could imagine taking a sedan there. All in all, a great stay!

Wonderful Start to Our Vacation

We were 4 travelers on our first trip together. Mom, Dad, Son, and Son's fiance. Staying at Above the Gulf house was a perfect place to begin our adventure! The house is unique and beautifully appointed. The view from the balcony drew us outside every afternoon. But what made it extra special was Daniela, our contact person. We loved this house. Perfect big one floor 3 br 2 nice bath.layout. Huge decks. Lovely building details. Beautiful bay view. The house had everything. Very comfy. Please note the driveway gets very steep but we did it in a 2wd low hp suv.

Spectacular house in the trees!

We would absolutely stay again at this house. The view was breathtaking, the house was clean, Daniela was so helpful and very responsive. She met us when we checked in and she is just lovely. It is a bit hard to find but she was so helpful in getting us there that once we found it, we had no issues going in and out. The house is very roomy and can fit at least 5-6 comfortably. The back deck is so wonderful in the early morning if you enjoy watching birds and various animals. Don’t miss out on this property.
