A magically unique boutique hotel, actually individual cabins. Everything you could possibly want in a private, romantic and wonderful stay, in an incredibly beautiful location. This property is in the high mountains of Costa Rica, filled with wildlife everywhere you look and listen. If you are looking for a hospital sterile resort, this, or the whole town, is not for you. If you are looking for a unique and romantic experience, among the trees, sunsets, and unbelievable wildlife, there is no better experience or place to be. Roads getting to this paradise in the sky are generally good but as anywhere in Costa Rica, off the National highways can have crater-like potholes, but just part of the beauty and the charm of Costa Rica. This place is magnificent.

This is one of the nicest accommodations I’ve ever stayed at. I received a pre-check in welcome including tips for finding the location and scenic views along the way, check in was fast and smooth, the bungalow is beautiful, food amazing, people friendly and the view is spectacular!

Pool was gorgeous and the breakfast was outstanding very delicious. The villa itself was quite rustic that allows insects to come in as there are gaps in the wooden structure. The owner was delightful and very attentive to our questions.

An absolutely gorgeous property! The owner, and his two dogs, are very friendly and welcoming. They communicated everything we needed to know, including when a storm was moving in! The food was fresh and delicious. Would stay here longer if I could!

This is a wonderful, quiet getaway in the cloud forest! We booked a room last minute after our original accommodations didn’t work out and the owners were so accommodating, letting us check in early and taking care of everything (including dinnner!) Our family of 5 had a great time splashing in the pool, watching the rain, and playing with the friendly dog who visited our cabin often. The owners even booked us dinner reservations & a night tour of the Costa Rican wildlife. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful every morning. I can’t say enough great things about El Sol - would highly recommend!

El Sol is such a beautiful property and our room was incredible! We've never stayed anywhere like this before. The views are breathtaking and the service is impeccable. Sian took great care of us, booking our excursions, coordinating our meals, and answering all of our questions about the area. The food there was some of the best that we had in Costa Rica! They will bring breakfast and dinner to your room so you can totally relax and just chill in your cabin. El Sol truly goes above and beyond to curate a unique Monteverde experience. We will be back!

We’re thrilled to share that our stay at El Sol Monteverde exceeded all expectations. The location is absolutely stunning from our villa (Sunny Villa) to the pool area, pond, garden, & lush vegetation, we loved every part of it. The property is owned & operated by a wonderful family who clearly takes immense pride in creating a welcoming & serene atmosphere. Even before we arrived, the owner reached out to us via WhatsApp, warmly welcoming us & accommodating our special requests without hesitation. Upon our arrival, he greeted us with a big smile & refreshing citrus-infused water from their property. He then gave us a tour, including the breathtaking pool area. Our villa was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, & thoughtfully stocked. It had a fully equipped kitchen. We were delighted to have coffee & tea readily available not in a tiny hotel coffee maker, but in a full-sized pot. Our kids especially enjoyed the hot chocolate. We even made breakfast one morning before heading out on a tour. Every detail in the villa, from the wooden decor & vibrant plants to the vibrant colors, reflected great care & love. The space was more than sufficient for our family of 5, & we truly wished we could have stayed longer. The cleaning staff was incredibly friendly & ensured our villa was always clean & well-maintained. Checking out was easy & the staff kindly offered recommendations for places to eat before we began our 3-hr drive back! Thank you so much for such an memorable stay!

We arrived and were immediately blown away by how beautiful the property is — we didn’t even want to leave to go eat! The rooms are spotless, comfortable, and fully equipped with a kitchen. The staff couldn’t be friendlier or more helpful. The outdoor areas are stunning, filled with vibrant plants and flowers, and the natural spring pool and mountain views make it all even more breathtaking. We ordered breakfast delivered daily, and it was always fresh and delicious. The charm of this hotel is unmatched — we loved everything about our stay and would recommend it to anyone visiting Monteverde! Thank you Javier for all your assistance!
