As a solo traveler, I felt like this lodge was perfect! I felt safe and comfortable. A great sunset view from backyard. Host, Mina also made sure it was clean very day. Mina was so sweet and helped me know closet restaurants, and grocery stores, etc. Definitely enjoyed my stay.

I came to this place because Fare Maheata which In paid until 31st made me feel uncomfortable…a very beautiful place… not tidy with a rude manager Si I left early and it was non refundable Vaianae has a very comfortable room and a great kitchen… it is very well kept and it is a great beautiful area with mountains and garden… not a good besch. It is great for those with a car and who like to cook and a quiet relaxing environment The owner snd Mother are very helpful. There is a nice supermarket near and they have bikes for the guest. I enjoyed this place. Í detested Fare Maheata… noisy no kitchen where to cook. Built by great people but now the management is bad.they knew I was upset and they cancelled me so there woud be no feedback… Great Vaiaenae Lodge Terrible Fare Maheata

Positives: - spacious bedrooms - spacious kitchen for guest use - parking onsite - deck to sit out on Negatives: - very difficult to find. Need signage out front - photos of room during booking process a bit deceptive. Shows bathroom, leading one to think you room has a private one. It doesnt. - host not responsive pre-stay via Expedia; must WA him - host not engaging - host was to have lent me a bike so I could cycle back the 16km rom returning my rental car. I told him what time I needed to leave by, and asked if he could help load the bike into the car. Well he was a ''no-show' and instead was out shopping. Not reliable. At least he apologized. - there is no swimming beach at this location - nowhere comfortable outside to sit and enjoy the view. Only a picnic bench, which gets wets when raining - no amenities in area - description states kayaks and bikes available for loan, though he seemed a bit reluctant. Summary: okay stay, nice facilities. But I felt more like an inconvenience being there more thana valued guest. I think this really is more suited to surfers, not solo female travellers who may need a bit of guidance.

The Moorea Surf Inn was excellent! Tama is so friendly and welcoming and his place is very clean and comfortable. The surf was incredible as was the snorkeling. His property is very well maintained and the waters in the lagoon in front of the property are stunning and full of sea life. We really enjoyed meeting the other guests that were staying there too. Tama showed us his island in a way that you would never get to experience staying a resort. I highly recommend the Moorea Surf Inn.

Great value for money for the budget-conscious traveller. As well as a private room to sleep, there is a communal lounge and kitchen if you wish to socialise with other guests. Tama is a friendly and helpful host who provides kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and bikes for guests to borrow on request and has good knowledge of local surf and snorkelling spots.

Value for money is the key here , when you compare with other spots this one is away from the overly touristed areas , close to the surf and Tama made us feel welcome and comfortable , also runs the boat to the surf . If you want 5 Star you can pay for it , If you want 5 star value and 5 star relaxation on a budget this is the spot . Thanks Tama

Delightful place.

I wanted a place to stay which was located close to the most iconic Moorean surf break, Haapiti. Moorea Surf Inn is family owned and has a charming vibe. Tama runs the show and was a very considerate host and surf guide. The place is right on the lagoon foreshore. Stand up paddle boards and kayaks are available free and provide a great way to cruise the lagoon, dropping in for a snorkel when you feel like it. The backdrop of rugged mountains is spectacular. Accommodation is simple but clean with shared bathrooms. A great place to wind down and relax (or go hard with activities) if you don't need all the accompaniments of a big hotel.

Great Access to Surfing and Paddleboarding

The owners were great and the location is wonderful (though a bit far from restaurants and the ferry terminal). I'd recommend renting a car. The wifi is fast and the easy access to the beach for paddle boarding, kayaking, surfing, or snorkeling.

Nice budget option

Nice B&B and a great host, but the B&B is in a remote location. It's a good idea to rent a car as the town is not really reachable by foot or bike.

Great b&b on the southside of Moorea

My wife and I had a wonderful time staying with Tama and his family in Moorea. The family live in their separate bungalows with a bungalow built for guests and one in between as a communal kitchen/dining room. It is excellent to live with Tahitians and get an authentic experience of life in Tahiti compared to big hotels where you are surrounded with tourists. Tama made us nice breakfasts and gave us plenty of information on what's going on in Moorea. He is the surfing guru of Moorea so if that's your thing you will be in heaven. There is excellent snorkelling on the outer reef if you take the kayaks out with your gear.

Accueil agréable et sympathique de la part de Marie la gérante et de son assistante. La localisation de la guest house est à plus de 10 km d'Haapiti, et des plages, chambre rudimentaire équipée d'un lit et d'une armoire, mal insonorisée avec salle de bain commune. Petit déjeuner continental des plus basiques, rendant le rapport qualité prix du séjour cher. Mais nous sommes en Polynésie...

Accueil chaleureux de Marie et Tamaa ! Bonnes infrastructures avec le wifi gratuit. Il y a deux salles de bains donc pas de stress. Très bon petit déjeuner réalisé par Marie. Appareil anti-moustiques présent dans la chambre. La présence de pizza Patrick non loin de là pour y souper. Attention, il faut absolument une voiture pour visiter l'île depuis cette position. Le confort peut encore être amélioré.
