The setting is beautiful and unique and worth the trip. The lodge is older and it shows. Our room was a bit grubby and it smelled of old sweat which was a bit off putting but overall I’m glad we went.

Incredibly charming place with surprising amenities (like a steam iron) and a high level of cleanliness. The lodge's restaurant could use some attention (long waits and cold food), but the staff was still incredibly kind and helpful. I would highly recommend.

Had a wonderful time at Carter Caves Lodge and State Park! The room was perfect. The balcony was a nice and quiet retreat. The restaurant had a great selection. All the staff were friendly! We went on ravens bridge trail and Smokey bridge trail. So so cool! Right by the lodge so it was an easy short trail to do at the beginning or end of the day!

Carter Caves Lodge was in a quiet rural setting, the buildings were nice but needed some love. The staff was excellent and very kind showing the true spirit of the people of Kentucky. The “amenities” are the beautiful elements of nature that surround the lodge. Hiking, camping, horseback riding and more. The lodge food as well prepared and the staff was welcoming. I definitely recommend this hidden gem.

Amazing place to stay! Definitely coming back for a longer visit. Room was great, balcony overlooking the forest full of fireflies. Porch swings out front. Pool and putt putt golf. Hiking looked good, cave yours were amazing. Restaurant on site was low price for quantity and excellent quality of food. Great service everywhere we went.

The room decor was very nice with wood ceilings, wood headboards, and wood floors. No carpet is a plus in my opinion. Smelled a bit musty, but not overwhelming. Went to the restaurant on site for breakfast and it was delicious and very affordable.
