「Our stay came after an 18" snowfall and near 0F cold in historic Collinsville, so we were concerned about our late arrival, parking, safe walkways and a warm home. What we found were shovelled and treated walkways, a freshly plowed parking space, lights and heat on and a lovely home on the banks of the frozen Farmington River. Coming from Texas, we couldn't have asked for a warmer welcome to Connecticut.Carol's 1860 home is nicely furnished and spotless. Crisp bed linens and oversized...

「The expansive view of the lake was divine. We saw many red winged blackbirds as well as wood ducks and mallards. On night there was a dramatic electrical storm that came over the mountain and across the water, but we could watch it while feeling cozy and safe in the comfy chairs. The kitchen had all that we needed. The location was a perfect balance of rural and near town. Caught a movie at the Millerton movie house which was enlightening. An excellent escape cottage! Showers were quickly hot....
