“The hotel is overall very nice. It has a good location, and the staff were very kind and helpful. The room was comfortable and nicely decorated, and the breakfast was delicious. The only thing that could be improved is the cleanliness. At first sight the room looked clean, but there were hairs on the decorative pillows and on the mats. The swimming pool was also not clean, which was disappointing because we wanted to swim but decided not to because of this.”

“Excellent family owned and operated guest house. Perfect for a short or extended stay. Owner arranged airport pick up and drop off as well as food and drinks. Very nice property. Would stay again!”

“There was no wifi and no cellular data. Therefore outside communication to arrange diving etc was nearly impossible. Also a long way from town.”

“Very well-located, clean and welcoming guesthouse. Lots of commodities in the room (not sure all have them - microwave, ustensils, mini-fridge). The room was quite noisy at night was something like a loud AC or something going on and off. Breakfast was OK, but probably not best value in town”

“A former IMF type executive, Italian national Bruno, owns and manages the property with flair, sprezzatura and Northern European efficiency; Manuel, his front of house manager of 3 other staffers, is a dab hand with breakfast, preparing the most tasty scrambled eggs in my life since 1980; while taken into care by Bruno, dog Bella, lends a canine affection; while Bruno’s curios placed in my room, (including Portuguese cannon balls) provides much charm and personality, complementing any……

“Casa de campo was booked on expedia and payment made. We followed the directions via the expedia site and checked in. After about two hours, we were informed that another hotel called casa de campo had received our payment and this was believed to be a non existant hotel as it had the same pictures and directions ysed. We were asked to make a further payment of 2500 metricals of which this dispute is still ongoing.”

“The staff are amazing, it is safe and easy to stay”

“The hotel is closed and therefore didn’t honour my booking and I am unable to contact anyone from Expedia to get a refund. I am owed £213 for the booking but there is no way of contacting anyone.”

“Établissement plein de charme et de style dirigé par une personne (Chris) très bien connectée. Le transfert de ou vers Pemba peut être organisé par l'hôtel, de main de maître, et les excursions, randonnées ou bateau, sont exceptionnelles. L'hôtel offre un confort moyen qui s'explique par l'isolement de l'île et qui est donc tout à fait normal. Certains membres du personnel sont très professionnels (bar, réception, transfert, excursions ) d'autres sont plus apathiques (petit déjeuner pourrait……
