Extremely Disappointing Experience – Unacceptable Service at The Leela Mumbai
Despite informing the hotel in advance that our check-in would be very late at night, the experience was extremely disappointing.
We had reserved four rooms. Upon arrival around 0:30 AM, we were told that rooms was not ready. At 2:30 AM, we were informed that the room still could not be prepared, and instead an extra bed was brought in. As a result, five adults had to share only two rooms. Two of the originally booked rooms were cancelled, but the situation was handled very poorly.
What was most disappointing was the attitude. Rather than showing genuine concern or taking responsibility, the response felt dismissive and unapologetic.
We specifically chose The Leela because of its proximity to the airport, expecting a smooth late-night arrival and proper rest. Instead, we did not get to sleep until 3:30 AM.
The check-in was handled by Aditya, and the manager on duty was Ashit. The following day, we were told that airport transfer would be arranged for us. However, when we informed them that we were moving to the Four Seasons, we were told it was “too far” and that they could not provide transportation. This made the earlier promise feel insincere and merely procedural.
This was far below the standard expected from a luxury hotel. Unfortunately, after this experience, I would not choose to stay here again
