Great beach stay in comfy home
We had such a great time staying at this beautiful beach house in N. Myrtle Beach. The home is very comfy with each room being very welcoming. I loved the colors and decor in the rooms, the comfy beds and overall space in the unit. It’s huge! The two tables in the dining room was also nice to have room for a lot of people to eat and gather together. I also loved being able to hang on the patio and hear the waves crashing. We were able to walk on the beach for miles, and it’s close drive to town for groceries or dinner.
We had a great time in this space. There was plenty of room for our party of 11 (3 families- 6 adults, 5 children). The sliding door was a bit of a hassle, but we managed. I would suggest bringing your own pans to cook in, as the pans the were provided were pretty scratched up and flaking. We did go buy a single skillet to use for our stay. It wasn't a huge deal for us, but I thought I would note that. We loved being so close to the beach, just a short trip across the street! There is a grocery store a half a mile away that we visited often, even took a walk down there a few times (once for ice cream at the Dairy Hut!). Overall, we would likely stay here again, or even another unit in the building.
We love Cherry Grove and have stayed at Pier Watch twice now - same unit. This time we had 9 with us and we had one room we didn’t even stay in, this unit has plenty of room to spread out and great for baseball family’s staying together or family reunions!
I would love to see an eventual upgrade to change the sliding doors to the balcony’s to French doors, only because the tracks are quite messed up - though, it definitely didn’t ruin our trip!
The rental company is the best, they responded to all my texts within minutes and called to make sure we had what we needed! Definitely would stay again and again!!
With 8 of us, there was plenty of room. The layout was nice and no issues there. There needs to be some updating, I.e. pillows were a little tired, walls, decor, shower curtains and rod but certainly not a deal breaker. Online info was great regarding info on property, the only thing that was disappointing were the floors as they were not clean. After the first few hours none of us walked on floors without shoes. Bottom of feet and socks were black. In addition some trash had been left behind a table in LR. While that isn’t a really big deal, you wonder what else was forgotten that we didn’t see. 3 parking passes was awesome, we needed all of them and very much appreciated. Kitchen furnishings were fine, but coffee pot needs attention. Well priced.
Very nice overall, good communication. Couple minor issues
Overall the place was great, with only a couple minor but a bit frustrating issues nonetheless.
The manager replied very quickly and was super helpful with any questions I had, the location was great, right across the street from the beach with easy access getting the kids (our family and 2 others, all with kids) back and forth, it was nice that there were starter items like small shower supplies and dish cleaning supplies.
The place overall was clean, however, there were multiple pots/pans and cooking utensils we kept pulling out that were significantly dirty, so we got in a habit of looking over and washing a lot of those things before we used them. The other detractor was that the sliding glass door to the balcony on the main floor of the condo, had the bottom track broken, and looked like it had been for awhile without repairs, to the point that there was a sign taped to it on how to push/pull/lift to get it open. We started leaving it open a few inches when anyone was out there because it was so difficult to get open again we were concerned we would be unable to get it open again to get in. It took a lot of effort to open and got to be frustrating quickly.
Outside of that, I would recommend.
