Norfolk VA beach

The home was ok. It could use some TLC indoors. A little work on the inside would go a long way. We didn't use the deck at the back of the property because it was really rough and there was only one chair for our group of eight.The observation deck is very sketchy. It was really rough, swayed with the wind and really could stand to be rebuilt. The beach directly behind the property was nice. It was fairly private and unpopulated, which was nice. If I return to vacation in the area again, i would find a property on or near Virginia Beach instead.

Pwner was very polite to offer alternate location dueto scheduling mixup. Property was spacious and nice. Great location on the beach, quiet and peaceful. Would come back again!

The beach was beautiful and best part of renting this property. House itself can use some updating. Need replacement or fixing glass door in bedroom broken glass and no knobs on closet. Broken glass on door of laundry. Ants in kitchen. Refrigerator leaking water underneath and ice maker did not work in freezer. Outside overgrown back yard and path to beach. Back porch very wobbly and old should be replaced.

**Mixed Experience at Norfolk Beach Rental**Great beachfront location with convenient shore access and good layout for families. However, several maintenance and cleanliness issues impacted our stay.**Areas for Improvement:** Found unlocked door upon arrival, exposed electrical wiring near TV, non-functioning ice maker, plumbing issues in lower bathroom with leaking tub and faulty faucets. Rear storm door doesn't close properly. Sand in bed linens suggested they weren't freshly laundered, vacuum was full and unusable, stains on staircase carpeting. Kitchen had ant problem with old, ineffective traps.**Practical Notes:** WiFi information provided was incorrect. Limited beach equipment - only one functional chair available. Several damaged mirrors throughout, including safety hazards.**Additional Fees:** Pet fees (120) charged after booking rather than disclosed upfront.**Overall:** While the beachfront location is excellent, the property needs thorough maintenance attention and improved cleaning standards. The historic charm mentioned in the listing doesn't excuse basic safety and cleanliness issues. Future guests should set expectations accordingly.
