The unit did have a separate entrance which was very nice! But yes, you can hear most of the family's movement around the house. They are up early for school and early ish to bed. The room also lacks natural light and circulation of air with only one small window to the back yard that doesn't open.

Property is located close to shopping center and access to the property is very convenient. The property is somewhat well maintained but a lot more could be done to improve the ambience. Host was very nice natured person.

The room carpet had stain spots on it but seemed to have been vacuumed. The bathroom floor looked clean but a wipe with a tissue showed hair and dirt residue. We used some paper towels (supplied) and gave the bathroom floor a complete wipe down. The coffee maker was frankly unsafe as the replacement carafe (original was not available) was to short to contact the base of the coffee basket, requiring me to hold the carafe up against the basket for the duration of the brewing. Parking was advertised as being on the left side of the driveway, however, there was the owners mini van parked in the spot. I was told to park on the street. The booking ad stated a hairdryer was supplied, however none was available. The owner eventually made on available. The bedding and towels were less than suitable. We went out and bought our own bedding and towels.

Noisy upstairs, running, jumping, moving furniture very loud . Bedding and pillows lacking. Carpet dirty, no outside space, poorly lit walk way at night.....sadly underwhelming all around. Beach 3 blocks and steep wooden stairs (about 300 stairs down) ....pretty though.

Great property, clean, nice surroundings, owners are nice, but if you really need peaceful evening and nights maybe questionable due to owner have some kids that understandable cannot be controlled and you may experience stamping on your ceiling during your quiet time!

The room was exactly what i had imagined. The beach access near the property was boarded off, and nothing seemed a reasonable walking distance. Mainly, it is such steep hills and im not cut out for that. Our stay was only intented to a place to sleep and it met my requirements. I would definitely stay again.

It’s a nice place to stay if you’re just using it to sleep. We like to sit outside in the morning and have our coffee so it would be nice if there was a sitting area outside. The owner needs to put in better dining chars the ones that were there were awful. It could use a new front door the one in there was a bit drafty.

Good spot for a bed and a shower

I was in town for an event and this served ky needs. The family does live upstairs so youre not getting total quiet. When i stayed beach access was closed so it was a little further than i expected (still walkable but a better drive).Communicated well, and had no problems with the check in or out process.

Perfect

Perfect spot for what we needed for our short stay. Was a little loud at times in the evening but we understood there were children upstairs. The noise stopped completely by 11pm. Host very accommodating. Excellent response time when contacted. Friendly. Thanks for having us!

Small, simple room. A bed, a table and a washroom. Has a microwave and fridge. Not far from shopping and restaurants. Short drive from Departure Bay ferry terminal. Safe neighborhood. If you just need a home base while in Nanaimo this is a good place to choose. Not fancy but it's clean and quiet. The host was excellent with communication. I didn’t interact much with the host while i was there but he did say I could ask for anything I needed. I'd stay here again.

2 night stay

Amrjit was very prompt to respond to any messages. I would definitely recommend this rental to anyone doing a short stay- it provided a comfy bed, a very nice bathroom, closet space and had a makeshift kitchen setup. The ONLY note I'll make is that the sound travels from upstairs, so we could hear a fair bit of movement (chairs, talking ect....) at peak hours. But overall, this place was perfect and exactly what we were looking for :)

Nice location really close to a nice beach with great view of the sunset. Bed and pillows weren’t the best but good enough for 3 nights. DVDs were a cute little touch, got to watch Shrek for the first time in a while.
