"We had a very relaxing family holiday here. There were hardly any other guests when we stayed, and it was almost like having a private resort.The restaurant staff made us two lovely dinners and breakfasts, the first dinner was an intricate kaiseki spread, and the second was delicious grilled steak. Breakfast had plenty of options for both Japanese and Western style meals. "The hotel is old but historic. The rooms were ample and very comfortable. The staff was super nice and went out of our way to help us feel welcome. The location is perfect, very close to the temples and at a 5 minute taxi ride from the train station. Also walkable in half an hour or less. Breakfast was very good. I would have stayed one night longer to be honest."

"I want to start this review off by saying, I WILL be back. My stay at this hotel was almost dreamlike. It's something that I don't want to forget. The room was prepared perfectly, and the service was a 10/10. The breakfasts dinners that were prepared were unique and delicious all around. The staff was kind. I think this hotel and the surrounding town were the perfect getaway from the fast city life. It really gave me time to relax"

"Although the hotel building and its facilities are a little bit old, the room is very clean and hotel staff are very friendly. It takes about 15 minutes’ walk from New Shirakawa (Shin Shirakawa) Train Station, or you can catch a taxi at about 1000 Yen. There are several restaurants located within five minutes’ walking distance, however, it is relatively far from downtown Shirakawa and Komine Castle."
