“Very nice big room Nicely updated and big tub”

“The room (20) was a bit tired. Beds were comfortable but small things need attending to: TV was very tempramental and sometimrs didn't work. Hook missing off inside of bathroom door so nowhere to hang clothes or towels. View from window was 6 foot wide strip of garden and a fence. Garden was very overgrown/neglected and there was a discarded pair of shorts hanging off the brambles outside our window. Breakfast was good. We only had one evening meal but the food was good with large portions.……

“The room did the job - but numerous issues. Missing some basic necessities like a bedside light. Had to use the public wifi from the bar downstairs which was choppy at best. The problems started right from the beginning. Check in according to the website was 10:00pm. But at 8:30pm I had a message saying I wouldn't be able to check in after 9 as the bar shuts at that point. I was on a train so unable to get there for that time, and somebody very kindly stayed to let me in, but they still……

“With so many negative reviews regarding the size of the room, we paid extra for their bigger room. On arrival we received a friendly welcome and were shown to our room. The entrance to the rooms was having a mould problem, so an extractor had been installed and reed diffuser to mask the smell. The room itself was comfortable, clean, no damp smells which I feared on entry to the block. As expected from previous reviews the bathroom was tiny but that wasn’t a problem… we were here for the……
