The house was very clean, open living room (could use more lamps for evening), nice big table, beautiful decking. Beds were comfortable. Furnishings are entertaining. Beware of the two blue chairs in the living room. If you lean over to get something, they will tip over on top of you (ask me how I know!). Be sure and use the bungee cords to secure the garbage cans. We learned the hard way there is a resident bear who came and dumped the fishy garbage all over the street. There is no dustpan in the house; picking up garbage by hand is not a happy experience. The kitchen amenities are very strange: 8 frying pans but no rubber spatula. Three vegetable peelers but no dustpan. Tiny dishwasher, but it works. Garbage disposal did not, which wasn't a big deal, but the sink plugs up on that side. This is the first vacation rental I've ever stayed in that didn't have a little welcome packet with special instructions. I texted two different numbers before I found someone to answer a few simple questions. There is a lock box on the extra bedroom door; it doesn't work. The one that works is on the entrance door. We thought perhaps there were two keys, but the one key unlocks both of the doors. There is no vacuum so don't plan on picking up the sand grit. We were there 8 days, and it would have been nice to run a vacuum over the carpet once or twice with two dogs and a five year old. The neighborhood is very quiet, and the beach is an easy walk of less than two blocks. Beautiful beach that is not crowded. We had a wonderful time, but did have to bring in supplies that have been included in other rentals I've stayed at. There was one garbage bag for the kitchen--had to buy more. Only 4 toilet paper rolls were provided. There were 5 of us for 8 days--had to buy more. None of these things were huge problems, but for the price, I expected the house to be a bit better supplied.
