I understand this property is older!!! BUT it’s still could’ve been better…maybe a little manual labor…like clean the hotel, maybe some paint! property was very dirty and dingy. I walked the hallway to get ice, and talk about gross…I don’t think that hallway has seen a mop! Flies frozen in my ice cubes. Beds literally have body swells… you can literally see where a human actually laid, and it doesn’t surface back to be flat. Room had a musty smell. Please pick a different hotel!!!! I rather have slept in my car!!! Only if the people could see the back hallway…I beat they would NOT eat there. So glad we found a different restaurant to eat and get away!

Very friendly staff, however a bit cumbersome to lug everything upstairs without an elevator. Overall a great spot with a really great restaurant attached.

Stayed two nights as a launching point for a western Cape Breton adventure and then the journey back home to Quebec. The room was large and clean. There was an attempt to renovate the room we were in, but clearly on a budget. The electrical system was outdated and the TV had unreliable reception. The facilities are dated. The climate control was temperamental and could use a cleaning. I liked the bed but wasn’t a fan of the pillows. The staff were very attentive and courteous. The restaurants on property are good. It’s located a short walk from the “Main Street” and a 3 min drive from SFX university and the Transcanada.

Loved the place. The room was clean. The gentleman who checked us in was very nice and helpful. There was a great restaurant at the premises and the staff was very nice; we got extra chowder and the beef curry and rice was super tasty. This is an excellent place if you are planning to visit the Hopewell Rocks National park which is just 3 h and 20 min away. We left the hotel at 7 am and arrived at the National park right on time to see low tide. Breakfast was free, but since we had to leave early in the morning, we requested a packaged cold breakfast. The staff was very accommodating and made us two breakfasts packs. Superb place and highly recommend it.

Our room was good and quiet. Front desk girl was great . Breakfast was fantastic. Even though it is included with the room please tip the servers. They do an exceptional job. Thanks for the seamless night. We just spent 6 days at The Algonquin in St Andrews New Brunswick and your service put theirs to shame Thanks

Lovely little hotel, staff were really friendly and very efficient. The little cafe attached did excellent food and drink and the staff member who served us both in the evening and next morning was brilliant.

Common areas not very clean...stained carpeting...no a/c in dining room only very loud fan. Also i feel the price for the room was quite high for what was offered.

The check in was good….patio was good service a bit slow but all in all if I had to stay there again I would. Noisy on 2nd floor with kids banging and yelling and had to drag my suitcase up the stairs that was the only downsides and no room service. That’s why I only gave 3-4 stars

Liked the Maritime Inn as a whole, however, the A/C shut down at ! am and we could not get it to function on a very hot night.
