Quiet and safe location
We had a great weekend and loved the quiet and safe location. It was a short drive to the French Quarter and museums. The house was clean, well stocked, comfortable, and charming. I would definitely stay here again if the opportunity arises.

Beautiful house, nice neighborhood
This is a beautiful house-even prettier than the photos! It’s in a great neighborhood, within short driving distance of midtown restaurants, the French Quarter, and other areas that were of interest to us. Harriett was an excellent hostess, providing prompt responses to the only questions I had, which pertained to early checkin (which she graciously allowed) and checkout requirements (which were very few). I would not hesitate to stay her again!

Next to Audubon
Such a spacious and lovely house, close to the park and great restaurants, and Uber-able to everything else. We really enjoyed it. Be aware that there’s a $25/night/guest charge over 2 guests, so add that to the $ calculation.

Perfect location for us and family
Harriet has such a nice place in a great neighborhood right by the park and walkable to restaurants and businesses on Magazine St. It is an updated New Orleans shotgun with added rooms upstairs and a cute courtyard that’s great for a small family gathering. Feels like a home with artwork and personal touches and a kitchen that is well equipped for serving guests if they drop by. Master bath has a big tub for soaking but jets didn’t work and shower head could be updated. There are a couple of extra rooms on first level that served us well as an office one day and made a nice “slumber party” spot for the little cousins. House even had a pack and play and small seat for our youngest little one. There are bicycles you can use and Harriet was nice enough to drop a pump by the house but unfortunately we ran out of time to use them.

Perfect weekend in NOLA
We are from NOLA and came back for our daughters defense at Tulane, this home was perfect for our family! Clean, easy access to Audubon Park and the owner was amazing! Kind and quick to respond! When we come back we will stay at this home!!!

Perfectly Charming & Serene Cottage
This beautiful home was just the right size and in the perfect location for our trip. It was near beautiful Audubon Park and Cascade Stables with quick access to all amenities we needed — restaurant a, shopping, coffee bars, and a quick trip to downtown when needed. The well-appointed kitchen, comfy beds, clean bathrooms, and quiet courtyard were such a haven away from the fun of downtown! We can’t wait until the next time!

Uptown surprise!
We had a wonderful stay in this classic New Orleans home. We were impressed and surprised by how large and spacious the house is. Tastefully decorated with comfortable beds and linens. Close walking distance to Magazine St, Audubon Park and the zoo. Highly recommend!

Couldn't have asked for anything more!
My husband and I visit New Orleans annually, and this year we had family members join us for the first time who have never been. This house was PERFECT for our group of five. Plenty of space - both communal rooms and our own spacious bedrooms. (I must say, the master suite is a luxury and as my youngest cousin said "bigger than my whole apartment! :-)) Everything was immaculately clean and we could not have asked for anything more than what was provided. Most important for us was the location is exactly what we prioritize when we visit NOLA. Right next to Audubon Park for running/walking and in Uptown that is the heart of all the restaurants and attractions we love. We will be back for sure!!

This Has Been My Favorite Vacation
This house had enough room for my 3 boys (12,14,16) and myself and spouse plus. Each of the kids had their own beds, they had a bathroom to themselves. My husband and I had our own space and bathroom. The kitchen was very large and there was a spare bathroom and a washer and dryer as well. I love that there was soap for each sink, because let's face it, kids are messy. I would stay here any time we come to New Orleans. We had everything we needed, it was a beautiful house. Very good communication with Harriet as well. 10/10!

Perfect location
We loved our stay in this beautiful home. It was within walking distance to Audubon Park and Zoo, restaurants, and shopping. The home was immaculate with comfortable beds and all the amenities. Highly recommend if you are looking for a stay in Uptown.

This house was adorable and in such a great location right near Audubon Park and the zoo.
Some of my family came to New Orleans to visit my daughter that is in grad school at Tulane. We loved the house and the location. We will stay again when coming back! One recommendation I would make is to possibly adjust the controls on the hot water heater. The water can scorch you it’s so hot. Communication was amazing and so flexible with our plans.

Beautiful, comfortable home.
The location is wonderful: right next to Audubon Park and close to Magazine Street restaurants. It's on a dead end street so it is very quiet. My only caution is that the very large jacuzzi - shower on the first floor is difficult to access for short and/or elderly people. There is another shower on the second floor.

Wonderful home in perfect location
This is a charming remodeled old home in a wonderful location in Uptown. Harriet was so kind and flexible to work with. The house was lovely and well-appointed with anything we could have needed. We enjoyed being able to walk to many restaurants and the park and zoo. A note for families with young children - the two bedrooms are upstairs at the opposite end of the house from the first floor master, but we were able to use the spacious master bedroom sitting area and the second main floor sitting room for our little ones which worked great. We would absolutely stay here again on our next trip to New Orleans.

Lovely home in a gorgeous location!!
5 of us stayed (all women) for 4 nights in this spotless, comfortable ,spacious home and enjoyed every minute- the neighborhood is safe, a few houses away from beautiful Audubon park - ended our trip with brunch at Audubon clubhouse overlooking a golf course- loved our walks to the streetcar- 15 minute walk- admiring all the houses and gardens- Whole Foods is 15 min walk too but there are so many great restaurants no need to cook at all even breakfast- taking street car or bus which is even closer to house costs only 40 cents a ride for senior citizens all the way to the French quarter- thanks Harriet who is accommodating and keeps the house in great shape!

Charming cottage in a great location!
This house was perfect for a family of 5. Its actually quite large . We stayed for a few days as a detour on the way to the beach. We shopped Magazine St, ate at Byrdies at the Bowery and La Boulangerie, and The Vintage..all so good and must go’s. (Skip Gris Gris, it was gross gross, lol!) It is an old house and shows its age, but I loved it’s creaky wood floors and tall ceilings. If you do not appreciate old things you might not.

Good location in need of an update
We were a family of 3 adults that stayed over the 4th of July weekend. Pros: - The primary selling point of this VRBO for us was the location. It is located on a dead end street near Audubon park. It is walking distance to Whole Foods, and Magazine street with cute shops and restaurants. - Private (entire house and yard to yourself - not a duplex) - Quiet* - Plenty of room for larger groups - Beds were comfortable Cons: - Tired and dated - Lacking a personal touch - no information on things to do, history of the place/neighborhood, nearby restaurant recommendations, check-in, check-out process etc. - Yard unkept - Outdated photos in listing - no dining room or yellow couch * Except for the college kids throwing a pool party next door on the 4th. However, they shut it down at 12:30 am and it wasn't too rowdy - just loud music and conversation.

Fabulous house
This house is fabulous. We spent thanksgiving here and my adult children who live in New Orleans were able to come and spend the day having lunch on the backyard porch. The house is fully stocked and we had everything we needed. We will book here again for sure.

Beautiful House Steps Away From the Park
We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful house! It was very clean and spacious. We spent a lot of time in the backyard. There were two seating areas where we had many meals. The house is located in a great neighborhood close to restaurants, shops and a wonderful park. We would definitely stay here again!

Fantastic break during this crazy Corona summer
If you're limited to mostly sitting at home, taking walks through the neighborhood and parks, and eating take-out food, why not do it where the homes are beautiful, the park and neighborhood is historic and extraordinary, and the food is world-class? Harriet was a fantastic host, and her home was perfect for my wife, two college-aged daughters and me. Plenty of space, just as the photos indicate, and stocked with everything you could need. A half-block walk to the back of Audubon Park, near the zoo and 280-year-old Tree of Life. As a former resident of uptown New Orleans, I think this property was great during a pandemic, but it would be amazing during normal times. So close to Audubon Park, the Mississippi River park, Magazine Street restaurants and shopping, it has off-street parking (rare), not far to street car and everything New Orleans has to offer, all from a safe, quiet, inviting and spacious historic home. We look forward to returning soon.

What you see is what you get!
Stunning home and kept beautifully. The location is wonderful if you your heart isn't set on being in the thick of the New Orleans action...you'll need to drive, uber or get a bus/street car (super cheap) into the quarter. The drive to the quarter is about 20-25 min depending on traffic. But if you are more interested in exploring uptown and surrounding areas or taking adventures beyond the quarter, stay here! It is right next to Audubon Park...go see the Tree of Life and check out the zoo! Host was really really helpful and easy to reach. We wholly intend to stay here again next Spring if it is available whe we are ready to book!

Beautiful, clean house in ideal neighborhood. This house suited my family of three adult children and I perfectly. We were able to walk everywhere uptown. Took full advantage of the running trail in Audubon Park and also enjoyed time to together in the spacious living area of the house. Perfect Uptown Location
My family came to NOLA to celebrate my husband’s birthday. This adorable cottage is comfortably furnished, well-equipped, and within walking distance of Audubon Park and some delicious po’boys. The open kitchen is the perfect place to gather. We hope to stay in this classic cottage again.

Four day stay to attend a Saints game! Grandparents and two grandchildren enjoyed this child friendly lodging in an historical New Orleans shot gun camel back full of character while providing open concept kitchen and den. Great location easy to access New Orleans and Metairie.

Great Family Getaway
My husband and I stayed here with our 2 teenage boys for a quick fall break getaway. The layout of the home was great, with a huge master bedroom downstairs, open-concept living room/kitchen, 2 bedrooms upstairs, an extra sleeping area with a twin size bed that shares the master bath, and a nice fenced-in patio. The cleaning crew was there a little late, but it was spotless when we checked in. The location was perfect, just steps away from the beautiful Audubon Park. It is in a nice, family-friendly neighborhood with some good restaurants and funky shops. The bus & streetcar line was only 2 blocks away and was a convenient way to get around town. It was also an easy drive to the French Quarter and WWII Museum. We enjoyed our stay and would love to visit again!

Gorgeous uptown home steps Fromm Audubon Park
This house is gorgeous and was perfect for our family of 6. My husband and I enjoyed the privacy and spaciousness of the master suite on the first floor. Our 4 kids slept comfortable on the second floor. The kitchen is beautifully appointed and the outdoor patio is also very nice. We loved the location being steps from Audobon park and magazine street. We can’t wait to go back.

Amazing property & host
We loved our stay at the Charming New Orleans Cottage. Roughly a 5 minute walk to the park to see the 'tree of life' & a quick drive to French Quarters and other points of interest. Harriet was the BEST host as well! Her response time to our inquires were amazing. You are in great hands if you rent from her!

This is a very charming home with lots of space. Very clean. Not too many good T.V. channels, but we weren't there a lot so it really didn't matter. It is in a quiet neighborhood and we felt safe.
