Just minutes from the village center, at the end of a quiet cul de sac, the light changes as you enter through a dappled canopy of hundreds of mature trees. You drive over a pretty creek surrounded by maples and periwinkle up to the tall, vine covered chimney surrounded by a blue stone step garden full of flowers and foliage. The property includes approximately 4 acres of gardens, lawns, and forests with lots of surprises like a wide variety of flowering and ornamental trees, a secret garden (in development), a fire pit (available whenever the burn ban is removed), and more than one type of forest. Watch the birds, deer and chipmunks from both the indoor and outdoor dining areas.
This house has two master bedroom suites with full bathrooms, a jet tub, a steam shower, a fireplace, and a really cool treehouse. There is an office with a convertible sitting/standing/walking desk, one kids room, and another room that is either a kids room or an adult guest room (it has a fold out bed that is somewhere between a queen and a king size). There is also a twin daybed in one of the master suites behind a wall--perfect for a child sleeping near their parents.
This is our regular home, so it has a full kitchen, laundry, and everything a family might need.
Only a 1 1/2 hour drive from NYC, we are surrounded by farm stands, the rail trail, and the best apple picking in New York. Just a few miles to Minnewaska State Park and Mohonk Preserve for hiking, biking, climbing, skiing, and swimming.
We are looking for family friendly guests who will take care of the place. No smoking or pets. We will be nearby to come meet you and check in.
