Close cheap place to stay for the weekend. Definitely nothing fancy but the staff is nice and they try to keep it relatively clean. Close to plenty of good eating and transportation!

Provided what I was looking for and better than expected. Staff availability and amenities provided like toilet paper, hot water dispenser, and shower quality made my trip not only inexpensive but convenient.

Very accommodating place like me.

Very nice accommodation you have a good one room the space is good for only one person, you can bring family or friends, and the bathroom is good. I rate it excellent for me.

No frills hostel. Was difficult to sleep due to no ceiling. But the staff were extremely nice and helpful. Staying here is only recommended if you know what a more affordable hostel entails.

There was mold on the shower curtains, bugs, roaches smelled, etc. checking in and out was easy. The front desk had someone available 24/7. Those are the only 3 positives.

I've stayed at few hostels, the condition here is average but the location is wonderful , you're right at all the shopping and restaurant areas. Hostel could do better job cleaning the bathrooms of mold. The rooms are very small if you are a big person it might be very cramp. Overall as a woman traveling alone i felt safe.

Very friendly staff. Kind and hospitable. Very affordable stay for Manhattan. Rooms need to be painted. Walls are dirty. Towel also had stains. Bathrooms need deep cleaning. With a little bit more care it could be a whole lot nicer.

The staff there were great, the mattress comfortable, and the rooms well air conditioned. Unfortunately those are the only positive things I can say. 3/4 toilets were clogged, yet there is no toilet paper. Bathrooms don't look like they're ever cleaned. I was too disgusted to use the shower and thankfully only needed to stay one night. The friendliness of the staff is the only reason I've given stars.

The staff was lovely remembered my name and wrre very kind and helpful. The building however was in dreadful need of repair. Significant water damage in the bathrooms the ceiling was dripping and peeling. The outlet in the room was too loose to work. There was also not toilet paper in the bathrooms

The property wasn't clean at all, and it didn't feel safe at all. The reception was full of homeless people, and the receptionist wasn't friendly and was aggressive as he didn't speak English.

The location is 2nd to none. We were located close to subway stations and within walking distance to most of NYC'S hot spots. Staff were friendly. When we arrived and a few other times we were inside the building, there was a staff member cleaning the building, but the building itself is just so beyond needing a clean. It needs to be repaired desperately. We are not at all fancy people and can handle some things, but I however puked at the sight of black mold and broken ceilings in the urine aroma filled bathroom. I was unable to use the washroom to shower or urinate for the 4 days we stayed. As for bed bugs, we were safe - our sheets were clean and the mattress creases were free of bugs. That being said, our 4th and final night - my 2am wake up call from a cockroach crawling on my face was the final straw. I stayed awake until 4:30 am when we headed to catch our flight. In a sense, I am thankful our stay wasn't the greatest because we did everything not to hang out inside even when the weather wasn't the best and managed to see so much while there. If you don't mind cockroaches and are just looking for a place to rest your head, then it serves it's purpose.

What you pay for

You get what you pay for. Very small room with shared bathroom. Relatively clean but building is falling apart. Open holes in the ceiling in bathroom, sometimes drips water. Friendly staff and good location.
