Great Stay

Wine and Seafood Festival
My wife and I spent 4 nights here in the Arden cottage. It was as advertised. Very nice views, close to everything. We liked the stove in the living room, cheerful as well as warming. The heated bathroom floor was also very nice. We had a great experience!

Lovely nest
Our party of three “older” ladies loved the location and watching all the bay/river traffic!! Chamber of Commerce weather was a bonus!! Kitchen was well stocked!! The only suggestion would be to replace the furniture. It was a bit worn and uncomfortable and rather crowded in the space. Thanks for the great visit!! Thanks for the great

Bay Overlook
Great, small space overlooking the bay. Watch the boats and sea lions going on and out. Lit up at night is really beautiful. Close to bay front, restaurants and beach access. Home is older and in great shape but probably not a place for young children?

Newport Gem
Winter getaway in a cozy cottage. We were warm and dry in the storm. Amazing views of weather, birds, and boats. Cottage has been lovingly updated as if the owner would live there.

Our experience was not too good. This cottage is deceiving by looking at the ad and google earthing. This is a shared connection to the owners house, it’s old, smells moldy and floors feel mushing like it has no cement foundation, the furniture was dirty and big spot on couch smelt like pee, the throw rugs were full of soiled spots of dirt which you can tell have not been cleaned in awhile including the Murphy bed comforter, the couch bed, Murphy bed, and twin bed in little bedroom were cheap and very uncomfortable. The floors were not cleaned or forgotten to wash, the dishes/silverware were cheap, the 20 foot yard in back is embarrassingly share by owner and invasive We heard footstep noise in the crawl attic space above us at night, that’s attached to the owners house and felt like we were getting creeped upon that he was videoing us. We felt very uncomfortable and we were going to call the police to see what’s going on in the attic. You know when something isn’t right. 💥 Do not recommend whatsoever.

Cozy and Quaint with a great view!
We spent 4 nights at the Arden Cottage. This is a duplex, but no one was in the unit next door. The cottage is older, but the bathroom has been beautifully updated with a great clawfoot tub and a really nice shower. The Jotul Gas Stove made this place so very special. It was rainy for most of our stay and we ran that stove continuously. It gave a warm glow which we enjoyed. You sit right over the bay and in the morning we watched the fishing boats leave for the day. The cottage is very close to the historic Bayfront. The kitchen has all you need with regard to pots and pans, but do bring your own condiments and spices. We will most definitely stay here again if the opportunity arises.

Cozy cottage with all the comforts
The cottage was clean and in good condition. Kitchen is older but has everything you need. Bathroom is spacious and has a nice shower, tub and heater/fan. It has a very nice gas stove for heat with a remote that keeps it at an even temperature. The view is wonderful. Sat outside one afternoon and enjoyed the view, a cold beverage and the neighbor's cat.

Comfy, quiet, cozy
Though small and cozy, it was surprisingly roomy for my 6'3" husband. Loved all the windows and multiple seating options to watch the bay. Because of moisture, we weren't able to sit outside, but the back lawn with seating was a quiet, peaceful area we would've enjoyed. Comfy bed, roomy bathroom, excellent full kitchen. Had an older feel to the place which added to the comfy feel. Loved all the hidden storage cupboards. The decorating was quiet and tasteful. Very happy with our anniversary stay here. We will keep this place in mind for future trips!

The little retro cottage delivered exactly what we were looking for. Not as pleased with the cancellation policy. A credit is not the same as a refund. If one cancels in a reasonably advanced time, one should be given a refund, not a credit.

Winter bt still fun!
Place is great for one or two people, small but cozy! Good view of the bay and with the gas fire burning it is just warm and nice. Close to both the waterfront, food and beach walking. Weather was cold and wet but found enough of a break to get in a great walk each day. You can cook; food can be delivered or you can call into places like Georgies and they just bring it outside to you. Recently installed on demand lighting helps a bunch in the dark getting down the steps to the front door! Thanks!!!!

Beautiful but stormy
Spent several nights here and thoroughly enjoyed it. However, the timing was during a few terribly stormy days. From this perch I was able to watch the bay even while stormy and with the cozy fireplace warming the room. During breaks in the rain I took walks all along the bay front. It was close enough for a great walk and I could get back undercover if it began to rain. Home is older but immaculate and everything you need to be cozy and happy even during a storm. The storm did knock out internet and tv in the neighborhood but the property manager stayed after it until 9:00 on a Friday night to get us going again. Great response.

Charming house in a great location
My wife and I were in Newport celebrating our anniversary. We usually rent a place on the ocean or at least can see it. This time we rented this house instead and loved it. The house is easily within walking distance to most of what Newport has to offer. It’s maybe a fifteen minute walk to the beach, and five minutes to the bay front. It was great on a really rainy day to sit by the fire and watch the Coast Guard practice with the helicopter right out our window. Another plus of this house is that it’s not nearly as windy as being ocean front. The only thing about this house that we didn’t know is that it is a duplex. Not sure if it’s occupied or not, but if people were staying there, it would make the yard less private. The only other thing about this house that we found a little unusual is that even though the kitchen is very well stocked with gadgets, there is literally nothing as far as essentials like spices, sugar and things like that. My wife and I have rented vacation homes many times, and it was a first Not that big of deal,but thought it was a little odd. We definitely recommend this house because it’s ptetty unique. We will hopefully be returning again.

Respite in a Heavenly Perch
My partner is actually crow barring me from the soft rocker chair overlooking our near panoramic view of the Yaquina Bay Harbor, because, alas, it's check out time. The accommodations could not have been better ... our four days of total exhale and relaxation amidst the open air, chatter of the sea gulls, and loquacious utterings of our sea lion friends, has lifted our hearts like none other. We only hope that those who follow, will experience something even close to this.

A Commanding View of Newport Harbor
We know this place isn't for everyone...because we avoid most of the places that others gravitate toward. But if a throwback, historic and comfortable cottage for two is what you're looking for, then you are like us. We could easily have enjoyed another week here. The photos don't lie, but they don't let you hear the quiet of the neighborhood...broken only by the muffled sounds of the harbor below. Or to feel the warn afternoon sun on your back as you sit in a lawn chair enjoying the ambiance Yaquina Bay offers.

Cute little cottage
The cottage is cute. It had plenty of amenities for us. We enjoyed the heated bathroom floor. The fishermen’s docks are right below the house. There are cute shops, but be prepared for the smell. Things that weren’t so great.... the cottage was very musty and stuffy. The blankets smelled of mildew. The bedroom with the twin bed is freezing cold. We opened up the shutters below the windows to get some air flow, but then we got bombarded with tiny gnats.

Great View
This is a wonderful property with mostly glass facing the bay, boats and marine life! I turned out cold, windy and rainy here but still had a wonderful time with the view, fireplace and a home with every comfort. Even when racing we were close to great restaurants so not out in the weather much to enjoy the dining! Close to any beaches so we did get out when we could even if only for a little while. Will definitely be back!

Our favorite vacation home!
We look forward to staying here every year. Woke to a gorgeous red sunset on our last day & the usual routine of the neighbor’s wiener dog. Bounding back & forth across the front lawn, barking at seagulls. Comfortable bed, lovely little claw foot tub & the view is all we need!! The Yotul wasn’t working upon arrival but the property manager was on top of the repairs quickly. Very professional in a speedy manner it was taken care of. We really hope you never sell to a customer wanting to make this into a retirement home. It would be sorrowly missed by all your renters. This is our fourth years & already thinking of when we can come back. Thank you for putting your place on VRBO ❤️

Amazing Cottage Overlooking the Bay
This charming and cozy cottage is small but feels large. We appreciated the spacious and well equipped kitchen for preparing our own meals and the dishwasher made clean-up a snap. The spacious bathroom with both shower and clawfoot tub was a wonderful surprise in such a small space. The unit is thoughtfully and beautifully decorated and sparkling clean. Views of the Bay are the cherry on the sundae. We would happily return for a stay. My one bit of advice would be to use fragrance free laundry detergents for linens for those of us who are chemically sensitive.

Exactly what we needed!
Me and my husband Loved our stay in the beautiful Swedish feel to it cabin. Between the propane stove, heated tile floor in the bathroom, everything you needed in the kitchen and then the View. We had the perfect time and very much hope to be back. Thank you!

Beautiful and convenient
We had the best time! The cottage was perfectly situated and an easy walk down to the bay front, but far enough that we didn’t get any noise at all. I was skeptical of the Murphy bed, but it was super comfortable. The bathroom was nicer than expected, even given the great photos. Would definitely stay again!

Excellent location, great accommodation.
Beautiful spot, the windows afford a great view and make the house feel bigger. Cozy accommodations, well stocked with everything you'd need. The blue stove from the pictures has been updated with a new stove. Super fast internet too. Easy walking distance to restaurants down on waterfront or shops along the main road. Close to excellent public aquatic center.

Quaint Beach Cottage with Amazing Harbor View
We come to Newport every year, but this is the first time we've stayed at this location. The view is incredible over looking the harbor & marina. We could watch the boats go in & out of the harbor, and hear the seals down at the pier. We were within walking distance just up hill from shops & restaurants. The aquarium is just on the other side of the bridge. This little cottage is so sweet & cozy, and just perfect for one couple or a couple with one child. We would definately stay here again & recommend it to others.

Amazing! Clean, adorable, cozy, perfect.
We LOVED it - every single thing about it. It was impeccably clean, had everything we needed, is located just above the historic bay front street, and was just adorable. We want to come back and stay again and wish it was closer to where we live so we could recommend it to friends. It is hands down one of our favorite places we’ve ever stayed. Gas fire place was a perfect touch, and it was just a homey, classic, beautiful place to get away and relax. We highly, highly recommend it.

Perfect Location, Beautiful View!
The only thing I would change is the bed. The larger bed was still only a full and was quit hard and painful to sleep on with 2 people. The cottage was wonderful, we couldn't have asked for a better stay in Newport.

The cottage was lovely and the view was amazing, but we had issues heating the place.
It was a chilly weekend and only one of the two wall heaters was working for the whole unit. There’s a nice gas fireplace but we couldn’t get it to stay on longer than 5 minutes no matter what mode we had it on. And the small bedroom has no heat source so we had to leave our 3 year old sons door open so he didn’t freeze during the night. Other than that the place is great! But with winter coming those things need to be fixed!
