Really enjoyed staying at the house great location to go exploring. Lovely local shops. Shell collecting at the beach is a must. Great to sit down at the tabac have a drink and watch the fishing boats come in.

The home is even more beautiful in person than the pictures can portray. It is a functioning lighthouse overlooking the port, and it has stunning views. The home itself was perfect for our stay - very clean, all rooms were well appointed, and the host, David, was very responsive and helpful. Highly recommend!

This house is exceptional. Everyone in our party enjoyed having their own room, the beds were comfortable and the kitchen was very well equipped. The lighthouse portion of the house was a hit! It was also good to have a washer and dryer as we have had an extended stay in France. The views are exceptional and we loved Port en Bessin. Wonderful Sunday market, great restaurants and bakeries. Had a wonderful time here and would recommend it for families.

This home was a favorite for my family of 6. We appreciated everything about it. It has a fully stocked kitchen. The bedrooms were large and had very comfortable beds. We were able to relax at the home and were very near many historical landmarks. We loved overlooking the English Channel. We highly recommend this vacation rental and if we travel to Normandy again, we will definitely stay here.

I can honestly say this is my most favorite place I’ve ever stayed. Absolutely beautiful and impeccably clean and decorated. We are so thankful to have stayed in such a wonderful place. Only suggestion would be to add a second couch in the sitting area. Since it sleeps 10, it would be good to have a bit more comfortable seating for all to gather together - the home and the view makes you want to sit and enjoy!

The house is very charming. There are constantly people stopping outside the house to take photos. You will find basically any amenities you might need though they’re not all top quality. The town is lively and has restaurants and shops. There are also grocery stores in the town. Things to know are that you do not have warm water supply for both showers to be used at the same time. The house is located up a very narrow street. Our car was too low to the ground and scraped the front bumper on the cobblestone (standard family car) We can definitely recommend a stay in this house.

Great house, with real character close by the port and all the restaurants and supermarket. Enjoyed walking down the hill to buy fresh baguettes each morning. There is parking at the house, but we found it easier to park a bit further up the v steep hill to make it easier to get in and out. David was really easy to communicate with both in advance of arrival and during our stay when a minor issue was fixed within an hour. Check in and out was well organised and the welcome bottle of cider appreciated. WiFi was great – kids can't live without it. My one comment would be that it would be nice to have some toilet paper supplied as late arrivals on a Sunday we almost had a crisis 😊 The Port has a really good fish market, and the house has everything you need to cook it. The road up and down is v steep but even with a big car we managed and in return you get some great views. Many thanks for a great stay.

Nous avons passĂ© un excellent sĂ©jour Ă  la Maison des Feux. Nous avons apprĂ©ciĂ© l’accueil du propriĂ©taire, la vue magnifique sur la mer, le calme, l’amĂ©nagement et la dĂ©coration de la maison. Tout Ă©tait parfait ! C’est aussi un point de dĂ©part idĂ©al pour visiter la rĂ©gion et profiter des pistes cyclables. Nous avons beaucoup aimĂ© Port en Bessin qui est un joli port de pĂȘche.

Our Normandy vacation wouldn't have been the same without staying at this magnificent place. If you're reading this, you probably already know that this property is actually a working lighthouse But that's only part of the charm. To start off with, the lighthouse looks exactly (or even better!) than in the pictures, plus it was clean and ready when we arrived. It has all the usual amenities, a well-equipped kitchen and spacious rooms. The social area, right where the light is located, is a pleasure to be in. The views from there are simply stunning. Lots of parking space, as well. The property is also perfectly located to visit the D-Day beaches, cemeteries and museums, all of them within a quick drive. Even Mont Saint-Michel is only a 90 minute drive away. The local town, Port-en-Bessin-Huppain, is charming and usually quiet, with quaint little shops and restaurants. Seafood is particularly fresh and good. There's also a few bakeries and a supermarket. There was also a street market on Sunday morning, which we found very lively and charming. It's an easy downhill walk from the lighthouse to anywhere in town. The uphill way back to the house is quite steep (18%), but a good workout. David was easy to reach and communicate with, plus he gave us a few sightseeing and restaurant recommendations. Thank you and we'll certainly stay here again if we're in the area.

Nous avons dĂ©couvert la Normandie ainsi que Port en Bessin Huppain que nous ne connaissions pas du tout. Nous avons Ă©tĂ© enchantĂ© par le lieu et ses habitants. Port en Bessin est prĂšs de tout. Nous avons pu visiter Omaha Beach, Bayeux, Arromanches etc Ă  plus ou moins 20 minutes de lĂ . A visiter aussi la : la ferme de la sapiniĂšre : visite commentĂ©e intĂ©ressante et dĂ©gustation au top ! Nous sommes revenus avec un stock de pommeau, jus de pomme, calva etc :-) Le logement est conforme Ă  l'annonce. Il est agrĂ©able, confortable et insolite. Il faut s'habituer Ă  la petite cĂŽte qui permet d'atteindre le phare, cĂŽte Ă  18% mais rien ne vous empĂȘche de prendre la voiture si c'est trop compliquĂ©. Les emplacements de parking supplĂ©mentaires dans le terrain face au phare sont prĂ©cieux car les voitures basses ont difficiles Ă  entrer sur le parking autour du phare. La literie est trĂšs confortable. Nous avons pu profiter d'un petit apĂ©ro en sortant la table et les chaises de jardin sur le terrain en face ce qui nous a permis de profiter de la magnifique vue sur l'entrĂ©e du port. Le logement est bien Ă©quipĂ©. Nous avons passĂ© une belle semaine en famille (8 adultes)

Une maison-phare trÚs agréable et trÚs confortable à vraiment 5mn à pied du port et de son marché aux poissons. Un excellent accueil par le propriétaire et une grande souplesse pour la procédure de départ. Port-en-Bessin est un port trÚs agréable avec de nombreuses boutiques et de nombreux restaurants. Tout était réuni pour une excellente semaine de vacances... y compris le beau temps !

Meine Familie und ich hatten wunderbare Tage im Haus von Fam. Bloche. So begeistert bin ich dass ich gerne zurĂŒck kehren möchte! Die Anzeige stimmte mit der wahren Situation voll ĂŒberein. Wer schlecht zu Fuss ist könnte eine schwierige Zeit haben, den 18% Steigung zu schaffen, die zwischen Port en Bessin und das Haus liegt.
