"This property is pretty much in shambles we were very disappointed with the entire property. Based on pictures from the website it shouldn't have been a problem to walk on the property but due to potholes and uneven walkways it was hard to walk.Room was semi clean. Had to ask for a coffee maker as there wasn't one in the room also had to ask for coffee. We arrived on a Saturday had lunch at the pool bar , went the next day and were told it had closed and would not be reopening , we were sent to the main restaurant and the staff were very rude and acted like it was an inconvenince to have to take our order that was the last straw. I called expedia and told them I wished to have my money refunded hich was done except for one night which we had to pay along with a cancellation fee(which should not have been charged as the property was mis advertised.) We also learned the property had sold and would be closing for a complete tear down/remodel the end of May none of this was listed on the website or told to us upon booking or on our arrival to the property. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED and had to scurry to find another place. "

"I was originally in a room 3rd floor One of the ladies came and told me they were upgrading my room. They moved me to the 2nd floor with oceanfront view. However the ice machine was right outside my door and very noisy. When they upgrade when not ask the guest should not be put next to the ice machine."

"Everything about the Buccaneer was an absolute dream! The rooms, the beaches, the food and especially the staff. Everyone there and in St. Croix in general were the kindest, happiest people we have come across. They went above and beyond to make sure you had anything you needed. The water on the beaches are crystal clear and calm, the entertainment was amazing and the golf course is beautiful, full of ocean views and wildlife. It was the absolute perfect honeymoon spot, not overly busy, ocean front restaurants, and an amazing buffet breakfast every morning. We left feeling like family, and we will most definitely be back!!!"

"My stay at this hotel was exactly the relaxing escape I needed. Having the ocean literally right outside my room was incredibly calming, and every angle felt like a postcard. While parts of the exterior looked a bit worn from the balcony view, the interior more than made up for it with beautiful, thoughtful aesthetics. The beds and linens felt like sleeping on a cloud, and the bathroom and shower were just as inviting. I loved the in-room amenities—a cozy kitchenette with a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, and beautiful dishes and cutlery. The complimentary bottle of wine, along with coffee, tea, water, and snacks, was such a nice touch. And the Malin + Goetz hair and shower products? A personal favorite. There were just two minor drawbacks: the hotel restaurant was closed during my stay, and the walk back from The Landing restaurant down the road was quite dark—apparently the street lights haven’t been replaced since the 2017 storm. That said, The Landing made up for it with their fresh-caught grilled whole lobster (offered in three sizes)—an absolute must-try. Plus, the beach being right across the street was a huge bonus. Overall, this stay was a much-needed, peaceful treat. ✨"

"I am so confused about the positive reviews and the reality of our stay. The good: The rooms were modern and clean Some of the staff were hardworking and pleasant (Gregory? At the bar was great) The bad: The food! They had a lovely looking Italian restaurant that was closed without explanation. The only options were a subpar buffet (breakfast and dinner only) and a pool grill (lunch and dinner only). The buffet was limited and the food was not good. They don’t have an omelet station all days. Some days there was no wait staff, so guests had to clear their own tables. Since the only lunch option was a grill, the wait could be 40-60minutes (and some of the menu items unavailable). The site lists a cafe as a dining option, but they only have premade cookies. Understaffed. The entire resort was severely understaffed. The site also lists a lobby bar, that was not open at all. The site lists a second pool and a gym, neither of which are on site and we never found them. No gift shop. If you run out of sunscreen or advil or anything, expect to spend $50 round trip in taxi fare and 40 minutes round trip into town. Other observations: Older crowd. Lots of 60+. Quiet vibe The beach was beautiful to look at, but not swimmable because of seaweed. All in all, I do not feel I received the trip I booked and paid for"

"The owner was very friendly and helpful. Gave great recommendations on places to eat also. Hotel is located in a fairly central location with a short/reasonable drive to everything. Would definitely stay with them again!"
