Two thumbs up! 10/10!! Best hotel in Iceland! A beautifully built and tastefully decorated hotel. So peaceful and quiet, away from the usual travel crowd. A must stay if you’re straggling north.

The owner is very nice, and you can feel that he spent so much effort to ensure his guest enjoy their stay in his hotel. He also served that breakfast, and he is always there to make sure the supplies are sufficient. The outlook of this hotel is very simple, but the room inside is very cozy and the view is stunning. The picture in the website is not able to fully reflect the real beautiful room. It is a bit strange that instead of choosing to walk inside the corridor, some guests passed...

Luckily got a room facing the Skútustaðagígar pseudo crater. I can have some good view of aurora in the room. Also enjoy the geothermal bath in the bathtub. Encountered some electricity problem at 2am still able to find a staff to help fixing the problem.

Spacious room & quality food at Elderly restaurant. Perfect ! Outdoor areas & car wind screen changed to white due to unpredictable first snow with strong wind in late September. Guests should pay more attention on road safety & sudden weather change.
