“I travel a lot for work and usually stay at the larger hotel chains because they’re familiar. This trip I decided to try the Ruby Hotel outside of Sandpoint, and I’m glad I did. From the outside it doesn’t look like much, but the moment I walked into the lobby I felt welcome. The staff was incredibly friendly, check-in was easy, and the whole place had a cozy mountain-town feel. My room was small, but in the best way possible. It felt comfortable, quiet, and relaxing after a long day on the……

“Awesome bed, awesome shower head, clean room, a/c worked great! And the nightly s’mores were such a fun touch!!”

“There were 2 big issues with our stay. One of which was the smell of the room. They use some kind of mint cleaner but it just masked the musty smell. It was a dog room but in all of our other stays with our dogs we haven’t experienced that. The room wasn’t technically dirty but the smell and condition of the room like the bathroom doorknob about to fall off made the cleanliness highly questionable. Second was the issue with our check in. We are on a cross country move and driving long hours……

“We truly enjoyed our time staying at the teepee on the property. It's located at the back of the property and it is peaceful. The bed was comfortable and was clean inside. There was also a table and futon couch and microwave/fridge. A few things to note: There is a small airport across the road and we heard a plane flying very nearby at night which we wouldn't have expected. Also there are trains which pass and sound their horns. It's not loud but I heard it while my wife completely slept……

“After the first night we discovered an article of clothing that could best be described as something a stripper might wear, wedged between the mattress and the wall. It would not be possible to have changed the fitted sheet without being discovered, so clearly the sheets had not been changed since the previous guest. When reported to the GM, she was more concerned about reprimanding someone than apologizing to us.”
