“If you like to sleep in, then the honeymoon suite is not for you. They have a dog and small children that wake you up early by running around above you. We also had to kill 8 big bugs( i know its a outdoorsy place and i expect some bugs but not 8) before we went to sleep that night. ”

“We loved staying in Opua. It is quieter, low-key area, but 7 minutes away, by car, from Paihia. The windows and views are incredible! There is a little fish and chips shop that is really good a couple steps away. One thing of note: The ferry starts ramping up at 5:30 am, and shuts down at 10 p.m. While it is totally entertaining during the day, our friends staying in the second bedroom would hear it, as well as get a spotlight in the window. That said, the place was so good, it still gets a 10……

“Everything about the Sanctuary Palms is first class.The bathroom was spotless, the shower and bath were great, aesthetically top notch, up to date, and perfect in use. The bedroom, the kitchen, the living room, the balcony, the view, the convenience, the access: tens around!”

“Cleaniness can be improved, specially in wet areas in the toilet and behind bedside tables. Cutlery was bare minimum. Minor additions such as a pairing knife or scissors are welcomed. ”

“A lovely tidy little home down a right of way. This was the perfect location to base ourselves after recovering from an unfortunate accident that we had experienced while travelling. We needed the peace and privacy that this house provided. The kitchen is well stocked for those who need self-catering amenities. The beds were comfortable, and the entertainment was sufficient for our needs. There was easy access to local beaches, and the local stores had all we needed for our brief stay.”
