  • Live out your country house dreams in this fabulous Norfolk cottage, a place that’s been lovingly maintained with traditional features and plenty of character. The property sits on the grounds of a grand 18th-century estate, undisturbed on a quiet country road and offering its own, private garden, along with the 5-acre estate that’s ripe for exploring. Sleeping a total of six guests, the accommodation lends itself to a family, a gang of friends or three couples holidaying together, offering plenty of local activities and amenities that will appeal to a range of interests within the group.

    The property offers a balanced blend of modern furnishings and traditionally styled décor, all encapsulated in a building with historic beams and fabulous feature fireplaces. A real highlight is the farmhouse-style kitchen/diner with the statement Rangemaster and stone-flagged flooring, a place for the chef of the group to get creative. Along the hallway, the lounge is warm and welcoming with a Smart TV. The bedrooms, two king-size and one double, are laid out over the two storeys, with a ground-floor bedroom and wet room completing the downstairs. Another family bathroom can be found upstairs as well. Outside, a private, enclosed courtyard is furnished and equipped with a fire pit/BBQ for summer nights.

    As well as this estate, Norfolk is awash with mighty houses and fabulous National Trust-maintained properties that are ready to be explored, including the neighbouring Mannington Estate (2.5 miles) and the Blickling Estate (5.5 miles). The latter is located on the outskirts of Aylsham (5.5 miles), a heritage-packed town offering historic architecture on the banks of the River Bure. This town is a destination for foodies, a champion of the ‘Slow Food Movement’ which prioritises local produce and sustainable industry. Eat out in the town or pick up some locally sourced goodies to take home and cook.
