The Big House on Oak Island

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Big House. With 12 people staying there, we had plenty of seating room inside and outside for eating and relaxing. The location right on the beach was amazing and convenient with a very short walk to the beach. The kitchen was fully equipped with the exception of no dish towels for use. The house was extremely clean! This was our third year staying there, and we look forward to staying there again.

Great house on the beach

This property was great. Best stocked kitchen I have ever stayed at. Loved the layout of the house. Lots of room where you didn't feel on top of each other. We will definitely be back to this house.

The Big House

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Big House in Oak Island. The house was clean and we had everything needed for cooking, etc. for 12 people. The location right on the beach had easy access with a few steps to the beach. The sunrise and the sunsets were beautiful from the deck. We will be back.

Great Home!

Our family of 10 has stayed in many different vacation rentals along the Carolina coast and this was the best one yet. We enjoyed the especially large living area with 3 sofas, the spacious deck and seating and covered area, the ease of getting on the beach, the number of comfortable beds in the home, and numerous other smaller details. I highly recommend the Bar-B-Que House for dinner and taking advantage of the gentle slope of the sand and surf at low tide with the kids! Thank you for hosting our crew.

Great time with the family

Our trip to Oak Island was enhanced by the house we stayed in. The open living, dining and kitchen were wonderful for the whole family to gather, laugh and play. There were ample bedrooms and beds for everyone to be comfortable. It was a wonderful vacation and enjoyed by the entire family. Although our trip planning was rocky through another vender, iTrip came to the rescue and really stepped up to make sure the reservation and accommodations were top notch. Thanks to iTrip, everything was great.

The Big House

The Big House at Oak Island was awesome. The house was immaculate and the kitchen had everything needed and then some! There was plenty of space for the 12 of us who stayed. The sunsets were beautiful every night. It was convenient for the grocery stores and eating out. We enjoyed our stay and can't wait to do it again!

Family vacation

We loved our time together at The Big House. It was clean and had plenty of space for our big growing family. The kitchen is well stocked with all the tools needed to prepare meals. The deck provides an extra living space when the weather permits. The neighbors are friendly too! The barbecue grill was the only thing that was disappointing. We had planned to grill our dinner twice that week because the site said there was a grill. It’s a very small, very old charcoal grill like the ones you see at state parks. I wish we had known that ahead of time. The beds are very comfortable and the bedrooms are spacious. Being oceanfront was such a treat. It was a special time together!

Great oceanfront beach house.

We loved staying at this house. It was perfect for our large family. Great location. Lots of parking. Not super crowded. Close to good ice cream, putt putt and the golf course. Highly recommend.

Had a wonderful family reunion complete with 8 grandchildren and an announcement of one on the way! Home was very comfortable; kitchen was stocked with anything you can imagine. We like to cook in, and the kitchen and layout was very accommodating! Loved the expansive oceanfront deck. Fun for early morning coffee and evening games with the family. The easy beach access was not only beautiful, but essential for all the back-and-forth trips to the house. Thank you for being so accommodating!

July Beach Trip

Great House

The Big House lived up to the name. Plenty of space with all 6 bedrooms along with living space for lounging. The house was clean, AC kept up with the extreme heat and the located to get to the beach was perfect. We had a hand full of kids ranging from toddler up to teens and it worked out great! The only negatives were the refrigerator would not get cold it stayed cool but not enough to keep a drink cold and the sliding door to the balcony was not easy to open or close but it still worked! For those looking for a vacation home with younger children this is perfect (even for multiple families)

Large Home for Family Vacation

Overall the home was large and great, the kitchen was well equipped but I was disappointed that the shade thing was not on the deck over the table to provide shade for my older parents during the day and there was no enclosed outside shower as mentioned. Other than that, the house is great for large families.
