A nice, tucked-away, private cottage in the hills of Montclair. Essentially a studio, it meets all your functional needs, including a very comfortable bed. It is also nice to always have a parking spot right outside the unit. Ted is very accommodating and responsive to any requests. Definitely a place to return to for future visits.

Great property, very comfortable, very clean,,Thoughtfully designed. Cool neighborhood! Wish I got to spend more time here. I was at a conference in downtown Oakland and decided to stay in the sanctuary because hotels were overbooked. Slightly hard/expensive to get an uber in the morning but that’s my fault for not planning ahead. Would recommend!

Compact but very comfortable space for a short stay in the area. Quiet and pleasant neighbourhood and a nice walk into Montclair if required. Great communication from the owner.

Lovely outdoor space, very comfortable bed, perfect for a weekend. Only thing not quite as described is that the parking space was not available, but there was plenty of parking on the street.

Beautiful sanctuary

Beautiful place to get away from the hustle of the city and close enough to go and explore the hustle as well. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the Oakland area!

A serene and magical stay

This house is up a windy road in the hills, and as such is quiet and serene, although a quick trip down the hill gets you to a highway that will quickly whisk you away to Oakland, San Francisco or Walnut Creek. It's also within 10 minutes of gorgeous hiking among the redwoods. The space itself is beautiful and serene with artistic touches that make it stand out from other rentals. Highly recommended for when you want to recharge in a beautiful canyon setting!

We had a great time when we stayed at Ted's place. It was central to the events at Berkeley. Ted helpful and was available to assist us when we got there with some details.

All you could ask for

Very clean, quiet and comfortable. Close to Montclair Village with shops, restaurants and grocery stores. This was our second stay and we will be back whenever we are in town.
