This was our 3rd time renting unit 502 at Sails II, however our first time under the Vacasa management. We arrived at the unit at 4:05pm, just after the 4:00pm check-in time only to find that the cleaning crew had not yet arrived. They walked up as we were entering the unit and said they could be done cleaning in 10 minutes. We told them to take their time however upon entering the unit about 40 minutes later, we found clumps of hair in the bathroom and living room, lettuce on the floor, and crumbs on the dresser. There were wet towels in the dryer and washing machine, giving both a musty smell. We weren't able to use these during our trip due to the smell. There were also linens still on the beds from the prior renters which I then had to remove.
Upon check-in at the local Vacasa office, I spoke to a manager about the delayed check-in and cleaning concerns. He said to call back if there were issues with cleanliness. I did but was taken to an operator who told me someone in the local office would call me back. They didn't. I then responded to an automated text survey about the cleanliness of the unit. After giving it one star, someone eventually called me from a local office and said he would follow up. Both managers said they would look into some type of compensation for the delayed check-in and cleaning issues however I never heard back from anyone at Vacasa and still have not received any refunds.
Overall, this was a disappointing stay. We did not have issues like this in the past prior to the Vacasa management.
The pool and location to the beach though are great.
