The coolest place to stay in Ocean Springs right in the middle of the action. Building is new, its just sad that it’s not properly cared for. Toilet paper holder hanging and bathroom vent nasty Also a musty smell when entering the room.
The beds are comfortable
Complimentary coffee and ice machine on second floor
I would consider staying again because of location
Location is awesome! Walking distance to restaurants, shops and bars. Parking is very convenient. The only downside is the noise. If you are a light sleeper you might want to consider a noise machine or use the provided ear plugs.
The hotel operates with minimal on-site staff, relying instead on electronic key codes for property access. While convenient, the system takes a bit of practice to use efficiently. A layout diagram showing exits and room locations would have been extremely helpful.
Unfortunately, the elevator was out of service during our stay, which made getting luggage to our second-floor suite challenging—we had to make multiple trips. Navigating the property felt like going through a maze of stairwells, hallways, and doorways. Only after reaching our room did we realize there was a more direct stairwell we could have used.
That said, the room itself was excellent. It was spacious, thoughtfully designed, and very comfortable. The shower, in particular, stood out—much larger than what you’d find even in hotels at a much higher price point. There was a ceiling fan, but it was not operational. Additionally, the room could benefit from furniture with drawers or at least a luggage rack, especially given the large closet space.
Overall, Mojo was an enjoyable place to stay. While there were some notable shortcomings, they didn’t outweigh the unique charm and ambiance of the property.
The hotel was in a great location. I wish I could have found somewhere in the description that there was a bar directly above the room. The noise from both the bar and the stairwell adjacent to the room was louder than any time I have stayed on Bourbon St. in the New Orleans French Quarter. The bed was not too comfortable and the pillows were very uncomfortable. I liked having coffee available, but it would have been more convenient if the coffee was located in the room instead of the lobby. Overall, I enjoyed the stay. I personally do not think the quality was worthy of the price.
Our room, which was in the back of the building, was beautiful, very clean, and quiet. We had a small fridge, which we used, and lots of towels and wash cloths. I would suggest providing more hand towels, since we had only two. The air conditioning was very good and the thermostat very responsive when we adjusted it. We had no trouble with the combination locks on the doors and felt very secure. If I could make one suggestion, it would be about the pillows, which were very uncomfortable. They are too stiff, and I felt like I was putting my head on a sack of flour. There should at least be softer pillows in the closet as an option. Having folding luggage racks would also have been nice. The off-street parking in the back was great. The location is very convenient, a short walk to lots of restaurants, the Walter Anderson Museum, and the Welcome Center. Driving down to the see the coast was also very easy. We would definitely stay there again (but I would have to bring my own pillow!). Highly recommend.
The place itself was beautiful! The only negative was the guests next door decided to do karaoke all through the night, in to the morning. The walls were pretty thin!!
