Accommodation for groups / artistic residence

Located in the municipality of Odemira, near the dam Brique Court and Santa Clara a Velha, the Village of Artists, it is the ideal place to spend a relaxing and peaceful days, far from urban centers and the stress of day-to-day. The village grew out of an idea of ​​its owner, artist, to create the ideal space for artistic experience and creation. For this remodeled a former Alentejo lot of mud (raw land), only with traditional techniques in an online group of houses, a total of 360 m2.

The lot is divided between the main house with a large room of 64 m2, 2 rooms without WC and 1 bedroom with WC, a living room with 2 single beds, a kitchen and a typical Alentejo room with fireplace and floor the studio with a small kitchen and living room with two independent suites. The house also has a tank and a kennel.

So you can explore the magnificent surroundings will be able to establish partnerships to offer lessons and riding tours; tours B. T.T; jeep rides; radical activities; canoeing; Handicraft routes; etc.

The house is ideal for large groups (maximum 15 people) who want to do or organize workshops in the areas of fine arts, gatherings or events seeking contact with nature and the rural environment, or simply have fun.
For artists who wish to spend some time working in the village of artists, its owner can arrange a vernissage in the lot or other contacts to arrange exhibition of the works.

Ideal para umas férias em família ou com um grupo de amigos, permitindo estar juntos mantendo a privacidade. O espaço é enorme, com vários locais muito apetecíveis como a zona da piscina, a zona das redes espreguiçadeiras, a zona das refeições, a zona dos carros, sempre à sombra. A tranquilidade é plena, tendo também total privacidade. No final da tarde pode-se assistir à chegada do rebanho que pernoita no campo ali perto. A dona Alice vende produtos da sua horta colhidos na hora. Bem perto fica a barragem de Santa Clara, com a sua praia fluvial, onde se pode dar um bom mergulho em águas tranquilas a mornas. Estivemos alojados durante uma semana, 4 adultos, 4 crianças de um 1 ano aos 6 anos e uma cadela. Antes de efectuarmos a reserva questionamos se a casa tinha um berço e se o terreno era cercado devido ao facto de irmos com um animal, ao qual nos foi respondido que sim a ambas as questões. Quando fizemos o check-in, deparamo-nos que o terreno era aberto e que não existe nenhum berço, apenas uma cama de criança sem grades. A zona da piscina não estava própria para crianças, tinha tábuas levantadas com parafusos de fora e ninhos de vespas que tornava difícil a permanência na piscina. A qualidade dos colchões era má e a limpeza da casa fica muito a quem, os sofás tinham muito pó e muito zonas que claramente não eram limpas.

The real Portugal, inland

Gonçalo the owner of the property is incredibly helpful and so friendly. The property is absolutely massive, the photos do not do the property justice. All of the bedrooms are beautiful. We had such a relaxing time. The town of Santa Clara is a 10 minute drive away. It has two shops, we used one in particular to do our daily top up shop as the shop assistant was so friendly. Please have a drink in the bar next to the petrol station. Odemira is about a 50 minute drive away to do a big shop. We recommend you go to the beach at zamubeira.

Wundervoll

Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit bei Goncalo in der Casa. Das Anwesen ist wunderbar und mit viel Liebe gestaltet! Die Bilder zeigen gar nicht wie wundervoll der Ort ist, wobei wenn man das alles fotografieren soll, passt das auf keine Webseite. Sehr gefallen hat uns die grüne Oase unter den hohen Bäumen. Im Schatten sitzen oder in der einer der drei Hängematten liegen war für uns alle die Entspannung pur! Dabei kann man in dieser Idylle vielen Vögeln zuhören und zusehen, zwei bis dreimal am Tag wird das durch ein vorbeifahrendes Auto gestört :-) Und wenn es dann doch mal zu heiss wird, ab in den kleinen aber sehr feinen Pool. Goncalo selbst ist ein sehr sympathischer Vermieter, der dafür Sorge trägt das es den Gästen gut geht. Insgesamt sehr zu empfehlen, wenn man außerhalb des Touristenrummels vom Alltag abschalten will. In der Nähe ist der Santa Clara Stausee, der mit optimaler Wassertemperatur und -Qualität sowie famouser Landschaft punktet. An der Algarve oder der Westküste ist man in ca. einer Stunde. Goncalo hat uns einen einsamen Strand empfohlen, selbst in der Hochsaison hatte man dort genug Platz- ein Genuss. Es war sicherlich nicht das letzte Mal, das wir diese Casa gemietet haben. Vielen Dank Gonzales für die wunderschöne Zeit.

beautifully restored old Portuges house, very quiet

We stayed at the Artists Village Mid July 2018 for a week. The house is huge on a large piece of land. The garden has many fruit trees and hammocks and shady places and a lovely pool. The house is carefully restored with great taste by Goncalo, in traditional Portugese style, using Portugese antiques and a collection of the owners artwork inside and out. Everything you need is there and we instantly felt at home, being welcomed by the lovely owner. The house is actually situated in Corte Brique, very quiet and remote in the country side, the village of Santa Clara a Velha is 6 KM away. There you find 2 well stocked little supermarkets, a church, two bars and a tourist information point. There you can also catch up on the Rota Vicentina and you can also walk 5 KM to a huge lake. We missed the artists village as soon as we drove off. And would recommend it to everyone who seeks a real rural experience in an authentic Portugese setting.

Gorgeous house, right in the middle of the countryside.

This is a quirky and beautiful house, lovingly restored by Goncalo, and containing many of his own artworks. It’s equipped with absolutely everything you need, and full of character. If you want bland, it’s not for you- but it was completely perfect for us. Beautiful garden, great pool, an hour from incredible beaches, and a short hop from a huge lake with its own beaches and pools. And a great selection of vinyl to keep us busy in the evenings. Woken up by the sound of bells from the grazing sheep. Awesome.
