I booked my room a month ahead for a conference I planned to attend. Upon arrival today, I was informed that the elevator was out of service. Given my disabilities, I had requested a handicapped-accessible room, only to be told the first floor was fully booked. The second floor wasn’t an option either. Consequently, I had to rely on others to help carry my luggage up three flights of stairs, which was quite challenging for me.
Additionally, the hotel's exterior hasn’t been maintained well; it requires significant yard work to regain a presentable appearance.
To add to the frustration, the check-in attendant was unhelpful and abrupt when I inquired about our room situation. Given these experiences, I’m considering choosing a different hotel next time. It would be fair to receive a discount considering the difficulties I faced as a handicapped guest with a third-floor room.
