The Hilltop Hideaway is a 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath chalet style home with a view of First Lake. This is the perfect Adirondack getaway on a quiet dead-end right road off Hollywood Rd. On the 1st floor there is the master bedroom with a queen size bed. Up the spiral staircase are 2 bedrooms with full sized beds. The private yard offers a natural fire pit and lots of room to relax and unwind. The outdoor deck space offers vast area for outdoor entertaining. There is plenty of parking space available. It is just a short distance to the Hollywood Hills Association beach (approx 1/2 mile) docks and boat launch where you can enjoy even more of what the area has to offer! Minutes away from downtown Old Forge where there are numerous restaurants, shops, stores and attractions for all ages! Includes cable & WiFi & outdoor camp firewood. Close proximity to Bald Mountain and McCauley Mountain. Quick access to snowmobile Trail 4 & 4A during winter season.

Carry in/carry out. Leave no trash or food remains at the camp. Bears follow the scent of food and can turn a property upside down as a result of food remains left behind. NEVER put trash outside the camp when visiting. Trash hand recycling can be dropped off for free at Webb's Transfer Station located at 152 McCauley Mtn Rd.

This was our 2nd year in a row staying at this location. We loved it! The proximity to Old Forge is very convenient while giving you the feeling you are in an out of the way area. The location of this house is the perfect quiet getaway. The view is beautiful with plenty of outdoor seating. The accommodations were very nice and the kitchen gives you plenty of supplies. We enjoyed our stay!!!

With its excellent location, this cottage was an ideal home base for our fall exploration of the lower Adirondacks. Comfortable and well-kept, it has a rustic, no-frills charm. The first photo is outdated; as seen in other pix the spacious living room has a sofa, recliner and two arm chairs. The attractive log furniture throughout suits the setting perfectly. We made use of the gas fireplace to chase the chill of rainy mornings and evenings. The wooded property with views of First Lake is pretty as well as private; we thoroughly enjoyed this peaceful location.

We enjoyed our stay at Carl's place! The beach pass was a great feature. Fire pit and deck were great as well.This was our first time using VRBO, so I'm not sure if this is typical on VRBO, but it did feel like much more of the burden of cleaning fell on the guest vs other places we have stayed.Overall, a great experience. Could not have asked for more with this property

This house was amazing. My son and I stayed here to snowmobile for the weekend. The property manager, communication, parking, house and decor, location, neighbors, everything was beyond anything I could've imagined. One of the nicest VRBO rentals I've ever had!! I'll be bringing my entire family on the next trip and we'll be staying here again!!! Thank you!!!

Winter wonderland

We rarely see snow at Christmas so we went looking for it. We found exactly what we wanted in this cozy chalet. The house was described accurately; we had everything we needed whether it was making meals or extra blankets to cozy up on the comfortable couch. The house was big enough for our two teens to have their alone time yet close enough that we still felt together. The neighbors we met on walks were kind and showed us around the area. The drive to town was minutes away and we were able to dine, grocery shop, and rent skis with ease. We would like to visit again during the summer and would happily stay here again.

This ADK property was a great proximity to Old Forge! Just a short drive. Set in the woods nicely with a little view of the lake. Nice quiet place! Would definitely stay again!

Autumn memories

Having experienced decades of Old Forge vacations and not having been there since before Covid, we were eager to return for another autumn vacation. We had gorgeous weather, the camp was perfect for our group, communication with the owner was great. We'll be back.

Wonderful long weekend

Our family of 5 had a wonderful experience making this vacation property our home-base for a trip to Old Forge and Inlet, NY.  One fond memory/experience -  I was able to take our 8 year old daughter out on First Lake at 6:30am to observe Loons cruising and making calls.  Carl was attentive and quick to correspond.  We would recommend this place to other families.

A beautiful cabin

The cabin was beautiful, clean, the host provided. everything you need, even coffee! We really enjoyed everything , we were having so much fun we didn’t want to leave. It’s beautiful,in a wooded area, you look out the window and deer are walking by. What a great way to decompress!

What a great place!

My daughter and I stayed at Carl’s place for a few days to see the eclipse. The chalet is absolutely lovely and we loved waking up each morning to the sunrise & the trees and the view of the lake…it was magical. Carl was nothing but wonderful and is there to make your stay memorable. Would definitely recommend!

Wonderful Chalet

We had a wonderful 5 days in this cozy chalet located near everything the Adirondacks has to offer ... gorgeous views, hiking trails, lakes & streams for watersports, restaurants, museums and more. The chalet was very clean and Carl was readily available to answer any questions we had. I highly recommend this property.
