What a beautiful and peaceful retreat in the trees! The Hobbit House is surrounded by towering pines, offering a quiet unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. Through the trees, the ocean views are absolutely stunning — especially at sunrise and sunset. It’s just a short walk down to the water, where we were greeted by a family of deer and watched golden squirrels scurrying about. The sense of calm and connection with nature here is something truly special.The restaurants in Eastsound were also incredible — every meal felt like a treat! Overall, this was a wonderful experience from start to finish. I can’t recommend the Hobbit House highly enough for anyone looking for tranquility, beauty, and a little touch of magic .

Wonderful stay at the Forest House

We loved our stay at the Orcas Forest House. Peaceful surroundings and wonderful space to spend a few days and relax. The house includes so many fun details to discover and has everything we needed for our stay. Kitchen was well stocked for cooking meals, and having laundry on site was another bonus. Close enough to Eastsound to easily head in for dinner or shopping, but far enough out that you felt secluded. One of the most unique places we've ever stayed, and we would absolutely book again if we are back in the area. Thanks so much!

Beautiful Getaway in the Foggy Forest

The Forest House is beautiful everywhere you look. When we woke up it was a foggy morning, with the sun shining through the trees... just perfect. My only regret is that we wanted to explore Orcas, so we didn't have as much time at the Forest House as we would have liked.Bring lots of provisions and stay in for the day to truly enjoy the property. Northwest Vacations was super easy to get ahold of and sent clear communication with check-in and checkout instructions. Thanks so much!

Pictures don’t do it justice !

Out of all of the places that I rented this is the one where the pictures just do not do it justice! The place is amazing and so cool!! It’s much bigger than I thought and more breath taking than we can imagine! All amenities are included , wifi was awesome and such a private stay! If I could give a 10 star I would !! We only stayed a couple of days but you could stay much longer and be happy! The experience and pictures make it so worth it!!

A truly unique property. Coming from the city, we were dazzled at how quiet the area is day and night. Bathing in the deep tub, with the trees and morning sun, is memorable. The full-service kitchen is functional and surprisingly well-stocked. The property is wonderfully remote; be sure to stock up at the delightful grocery store in Eastsound or bring a mail-order box with meals. Pack some reading materials and also peruse the extensive collection of books and DVDs. Netflix works well on the TV and the wireless router has impressive range. The festive lights on the deck railing are a nice touch!Artists: take advantage of the charcoals and oils near the easel. Many prior renters have gifted their creations and they add to the character of the Forest House.For those of you reading reviews from previous years, there is a note about wall heaters taking time to warm up. Some of them are slow, especially in the two-story house. The portable electric radiators are a great idea and another example of the management being responsive and thoughtful. Several radiators are on site. You will be toasty.The Northwest Vacations staff are very helpful, and my advice is to consider booking directly with them.

Truly unique and fun. Wonderful to be nestled in the woods and yet 15 minutes from dining. Well appointed with room to spread out. Comfy beds, and you must try the tub.

Magical!

This house is one of a kind amazing! So clean! Only 12 minute drive to Eastsound but feels like a world away. It's worth it just for the view from the deck. The tub is so relaxing. Honestly the whole stay felt zen and spiritual.

One of our favorite getaways!

This is the second time I've stayed here with my kids and we love this enchanting location. Some of the personal touches are missing after ownership changed, but it's still a wonderful whimsical place to stay and recoup.

A Majestic and Magical Island Adventure

There’s not a really effective way to capture the essence of the treehouse on Orcas Island. We chose it because it looked like a perfect combination of serenity and adventure, and that’s exactly what it was. We adored the deck with the ocean views and spent most of our time out there when we weren’t exploring the island. Naps in the tower and soaks in the amazing tub were also a highlight. The only thing I missed was blinds in the bedroom. Everything else was perfection and then some. This place truly encompassed all the magic we felt on the whole of Orcas Island. Thank you!

A Magical Place

We had a truly wonderful time at Forest House! The treehouse itself felt magical and we delighted in how quiet and serene the surroundings were. The beds were comfortable, the soaking tub was lovely - we had everything we needed for the weekend. Our only regret was that two nights in this special place were not enough. We hope to come back, and highly recommend to all!

I've never experienced a stay like this and can't wait to go back! Rustic, quaint, simple, but at the same time extremely ornate and unique and classy. SO fun! Take a long long bath with some music and a cocktail :D
