We felt pressured to check out, as a staff member repeatedly knocked on our door between 9:00 and 10:00 am to ask whether we were “ready.” The staff were unprofessional. When we checked in, the staff member was barefoot and walking around.

A great place to stay if your deaf. Train tracks and main drag for city are feet from the property. Was not asked if a wanted a non smoking room, got a smoking room with a horrid fake smelling air freshener. Not sure how this place got a better rating than other motels in the area.

Decent place for last minute. The staff was nice. Not a very quiet place at night. There were lot of loud crappy sounding cars going up and down the road.

The cleaning products they used were over whelming! I was going to stay there on my back home, but I canceled, due to the large amount of odor in the room that I was in.

It is definitely a room from the 70's. However, it was in the expected condition and clean. However, the WiFi did not work, and ice is only available from the manager, which is very inconvenient if you leave early, as was my case. The bed has a dent and should be replaced. There is a train that goes by at least twice late at night and very early in the morning, and right next to a busy street. Overall, it was okay.

I reserved my stay on Expedia and upon arrival the hotel staff were very confused and wanted to charge me again and trying to prove I didn’t reserve online as I’m showing them the confirmation email and all. Along with the already charged bank statement from Expedia. After getting my key the room smelt horrible. Woke up sick to my stomach and cough. It’s 80 degrees outside and I have the flu. How?

I found the motel manager to be unfriendly and difficult to work with. When we checked in, the manager informed me that even though I had reserved a king sized bed, he mistakenly gave us a room with two queen sized beds. That in itself is not a big deal, but he wanted me to pay him the difference. That is completely inappropriate, Why should I have to pay for his error? For our second night of out two-night stay, we were in a king-sized bed. But there were only two pillows and we needed two additional pillows to be confortable. I walked over to the office and requested two additional pillows. There have been many times over the years where I have requested additonal pillows at motels/hotels and the requests have always been granted graciously. But when I made this request at this time, the manager told me that there would be a surcharge of one dollar per pillow per night. Never have I had such a surcharge. And it's not the money that is the issue as the extra payment is trivial. It's the principle that is important. We travel often but you can rest assured that we will never choose to stay at Oregon Trail Motel again. And if anyone asks me to recommend lodging in Ontario, I will be sure to suggest he/she stays anywhere else, just not at Oregon Trail Motel.

The photos seemed to have outdated style/appliances which I don't mind as long as everything is well kept and clean which the reviews suggested. Upon arrival at the room, I opened the door and was immediately taken back by the smell; seemingly of body odor, onions and old food. My husband ran into the bathroom needing to pee after driving over 8 hrs. After further inspection, everything was filthy. I pulled up the sheets to inspect the mattress, which is standard for anywhere I stay and the sheets/bedding/mattress had mystery stains all over. I quickly re adjusted the bedding as I knew I was not comfortable staying there. I went to turn on the air and the switch fell off in my hand and was non functioning. My husband and I promptly exited the room after booking accommodations elsewhere and requested a refund. I was then notified we were being charged $50 for "using the bed and toilet." I found it very suspicious that they knew my husband urinated in the bathroom as I checked and it appeared identical to when we arrived before leaving the room... as if we were being watched.. I reluctantly paid the $50 exhausted from travels and just wanted to get out of there and into a clean room for the night. Overall the reviews I saw prior to booking seem fake, even the front lobby had lots of built up dust and grime as well as a faint unpleasant smell. The only thing I recommend for this location is a visit from the health inspector.
