“This property totally delivered on Everything. The view is spectacular. The house is perfectly clean and modern. The bedrooms are all ensuites. The kitchen offers up all kinds of choices for drinks and meals. Every detail was so well thought out, the host thought of everything. He even went above and beyond when we left something behind. “Great place to stay - just as advertised. While not fancy or luxurious, it is very nice, comfortable and clean and in a spectacular location. Having morning coffee on lanai overlooking the ocean cannot be beat. Probably the best stocked kitchen in rental that we have ever had. Saul is an attentive (in a very good way) host. He provides great welcoming touches, including a bottle of wine and fresh cut flowers.”

“The property was great. Clean. Functional. Comfy. Based on the pictures we were looking for a place a little more away from neighbors and this isn’t that. Neighbors are right close because the property is long and narrow BUT the way the yard is bordered by trees/other plant life you do get privacy. I feel like a picture of the parking area would make the house easier to find so you would know what you are looking for street side.”

“This is our second year renting out this house. It was a perfect fit the first year so we wanted to come back again this year. The house is spacious with the upstairs and downstairs rooms, bathrooms. The garage was big enough to fit two vehicles which was perfect for the rainy days. The house is fully stocked with all the amenities. We would stay here again if needed and would highly recommend families to do so too. This was truly our home away from home. Mahalo!”

“The owners are very friendly, we let them know when we were coming and they greeted us when we arrived to walk through the property. In the morning we were greeted with spectacular views of Hilo and fresh bananas from the garden. This property is great for eco-conscious visitors, as the owners make great efforts to reduce their impact on the environment and teach visitors about their efforts as well. A few things to note: despite being about 3 miles outside of Hilo, it takes a solid 10-15……

“We loved this place so much! Thoughtful furnishings, a very nice house, but best of all is the location! We saw whales, stars, goats, wild pigs, sunrises, ships and barges, beautiful waves, and fruit trees. It was peaceful and quiet—away from all the people and bustle. But a quick trip to Hilo and other small towns with amenities. Perfect location to go to Volcanoes or just anywhere on the island.”

“The rental process was easy. Access was easy. The house was clean and copious amenities were available. The location was central to many of our experiences. We felt like we were able to really learn the roads and felt accomplished when we were able to find our way without using Maps. The ocean right outside of most windows and doors was exactly what I wanted and the sound of the waves was perfect for sleep. Very loud at times but so what? Loud in a really good way. No problem with bugs, even……

“A stunning and beautiful situation and location. The hosts Garrett and Kaia were so pleasant to deal with and very helpful. They made suggestions as to sights to see and good places to eat, going so far as to even picking up a meal for us. There was plenty of room at this location for all of our family and each member had their own room. Out grand children greatly enjoyed the animal life both domestic and wild. “If you’re going to Hilo stay here! Everything about this home was wonderful. The view is knock down gorgeous and the home doesn’t disappoint. We found ourselves arriving early and the property manager let us check in a couple hours early. Hilo is not far away and is a quaint little town with many farmers markets and a nice local grocery store. The food and restaurants where delicious. Kekela was very responsive anytime we had questions or concerns and needed to text which was rare. We……

“Our Hālau Group Of 10 adults return to Hilo every year for the Merrie Monarch Hula Competition & Festivities. This Is our 2nd year to stay at Honomu Haven! We feel more at home staying here rather than a Hotel! Each day the girls take turns in preparing a breakfast before we depart for the day and also prepare a dinner to eat when we return in the late evening after the competition for that day has ended. Itʻs just nice to relax and visit around the large table in the kitchen! After a full day……

“Kim’s Cottage and Jim’s welcome were both awesome, two of us stayed for three nights and it was exactly as described and expected. The private patio was wonderful and it made for easy living. We did have some unwelcome encounters with mosquitos, but that was expected due to the location of the property and the season.
