「We’ve used Hotels.com for years and have always had good experiences — until now. This particular booking was deeply disappointing. The apartment was nothing like the listing described, and certainly not worthy of the 5-star rating shown on the site. 「Good for young party goers ONLY. Above an extremely loud restaurant for 300 people with loud music, techno DJ, live performers, inebriated guests until 2 am. Building front entrance always propped open by staff or random diners (all men) who would be sitting on the staircase smoking. Did not feel safe as a woman walking up 3 flights to my apartment. Nice location and new appliances. Clean enough but not thoroughly, corners not wiped, shower with mold. Bed comfortable. No couch just second bed.」

「The unit was very dirty with food crumbs on the kitchen counter and greasy fingerprints on the cupboard doors. The worst part was the sewer gas smell that permeated the unit that started while we were sleeping. It was so bad we had to keep the bathroom door closed and we avoided going in!! And there was only the one bathroom. We told the host of the problem and got no response at all. The redeeming quality of the apartment is the fantastic location.」
