First, the pros: the location is fantastic. So are the views. There’s another cabin right next door, but those are the only people you’ll see/hear. The beds are comfortable and plentiful. The ac worked great. The weather is awesome up on the mountain. Pool table was in great shape so that’s been fixed. The host was super nice and very responsive. WiFi worked good. This place has so much going for it, but…
The cons:
For the price we paid, it seemed like this place was missing a lot of things and is in desperate need of small repairs. It isn’t your typical private rental. There’s no guest book and no thoughtful touches. It’s a very large empty house which we assumed was part of one of the local resort companies. If you have someone picky in your group, you’ll probably hear a lot of complaints on small things. Slow drains, not enough towels, only 4 drinking glasses, broken blinds, the couches are shot, the area rug is ripped, garbage on the property, etc. There were only 4 drinking glasses and the silverware is in rough shape. We ended up having to buy paper and plastic. The host was awesome about getting us laundry detergent and more toilet paper, but it would have been better if their cleaning service or maintenance just made sure the place was stocked before we came. These are relatively minor things, and hopefully the next reviewer notes that some of it is fixed. This house is gorgeous, but without some maintenance, it will fall apart.
