Lovely week in sun and sea

Gorgeous property & setting

Villa Kustra is a Very handsome ,well appointed home with direct access to glorious Ardriatic beach. There are many steps , but with the good handrails , easily navigated. Shady hammocks invited lazy summer naps. Easy fully functional outdoor kitchen & bathroom facilities & comfortable, spacious covered terrace for dining & lounging. Dry air with fragrant breezes made for an unforgettable stay for our family of 10. Truly a beautiful spot

Fantastic villa

Our extended family of 10 stayed at Villa Kustra for a week, and this property exceeded our expectations. The villa itself was beautifully remodeled and the property has a great deal of outdoor space for relaxing. The beach accessed directly from the property is also great for swimming. Communication with the owner leading up to our stay was also great. I recommend it highly!

Fabulous villa

We stayed here for my 60th birthday week with family staying at adjacent campsites and apartments in Mokalo and Orebic. The villa was perfect for our needs with plenty of space and quiet areas to be in as well as the wonderful veranda where we hosted a celebration dinner of Croatian lamb peka provided by Marija. The location is just perfect, nice and quiet but easy to get to Orebić and across to Kortula, which is my favourite Dalmatian island. Thank for a wonderful, happy and memorable stay.

Very nice house

We had a great time in that lovely house! The bedrooms upstairs are huge, so are the bathrooms. Downstairs the bedrooms are also okay, but much smaller and you have to share a bath. The kitchen has everything we needed. On the beach there were many people and it was quite loud. So we stayed in our private space on the property and just went down for swimming. All in all a great house!

Our own private resort on the Adriatic

Six friends stayed for a week at this beautiful beachfront home. The house has everything needed for a fun and relaxing vacation. There are excellent restaurants and a vineyard with wine tasting within walking distance. The kitchen is fully equipped and modern and there is plenty of space to dine both indoors and out. The grounds and gardens are stunning with lounge chairs and hammocks at several levels leading to the beach. There are many stairs here - like everywhere in Croatia! The owner provided all the information we could possibly need about the house and the surrounding area including recommendations for restaurants and excursions. This is a great place to stay and relax as well as being ideally located to explore the entire peninsula.

Paradise

Villa Kustra was absolutely gorgeous and truly exceeded our expectations. The property itself is stunning and serene. The proximity to both the beach bar and the restaurant on either side of the property was an added bonus, providing us with perfect options for nights when we didn’t feel like cooking. Traveling from Dubrovnik to Split and exploring other areas along the way, we couldn't have made a better choice for our stay. The location is ideal for exploring the area while also offering a peaceful retreat. We were three couples, and the property provided ample space for both privacy and togetherness. With so many different nooks and spots to relax, it felt like a new experience each day. I can't recommend this place enough—it truly made our vacation unforgettable.

Great location

This property is in the most amazing location. We stayed here the first week in June. Weather was just perfect. Actually, the temperature increased by the day, along with the water temp. I was slightly concerned given the house is flanked by camping sites, but there was no ill effects from campers at all. There are two restaurants on either side of the house which was great. The beach restaurant is great for light fare, beer wine, pizza, and basic food. The other restaurant was incredible. The setting was second to none. The food and staff were amazing, a big thumbs up! The house is large enough to sleep 10 comfortably with 5 bedrooms. Kitchen is small but manageable. Bathrooms were great, particularly the upper bathrooms. Great patios. There are 3 decks/patios on 3 levels, smaller as you go up.The town of Orebić is a short drive with tons of great eateries and access to ferries and water taxis. Some negatives: from the house to the water, there are lots of trees and vegetation, so virtually no view. There may be a reason for this as in the heat of the summer it gets very warm so the shade will keep things cooler. The stairs to the beach are steep and long, so be prepared to get your steps in lol. Tons of mosquitoes! Bring your bug spray. Overall, a must visit!!

My return to my ancestral roots

The villa and the setting is breathtaking-all that is described in the VRBO listing and more. It’s a true paradise. The grounds and beach are spectacular. All who came fell in love with the accommodations and the setting. We had a boat during our three week stay and we’re able to cruise the coastline and visit the numerous islands in the vicinity-eating lunch on a nearby private island between our beautiful half- moon beach and the island of Korcula (which I highly recommend taking an ATV buggy tour of with the family-operated boats oldest buggy tout operator on the island. Much thanks to Joseph for our stay in his obvious “labor of love”. Hopefully I will return.

Everything as Advertized and Then Some!

Spectacular spot, situated between two beach areas. The food at each was incredible, the beach was pristine. Camping families are all delightful. Getting bread every morning from the bakery truck as a real treat. The house itself is perfect, sizable, efficient and comfortable. So many places to sit and enjoy the view. Boat taxis picked us up many night directly in front of the house! So epic. Nearby Orebic is terrific and the surrounding islands like Korchula are easy to reach and very close by. I could have stayed all summer. This house is a must-stay place. One of the best holidays

Idyllic House

The house and gardens were fantastic, as was its situation. It was very well equipped and the decor and furniture were of a high standard. The gardens were extensive and spread over several terraces and it was brilliant having direct access onto the beach. There was plenty of room outside in both the sun and shade. The property manager Marija was very welcoming and helpful as were all the local people we met. It was easy to get taxis and boat rides and we would definitely recommend getting a water taxi into Orebic. The only disappointment was that in May when we went, some of the recommendations in the guest book were closed. This was a minor inconvenience. Our group of ten had a wonderful time there.

Our family holiday

This property was fabulous for our extended family of 10 ranging from 7months to 70 years. The great things about it were the location, with the direct access to the beach which was perfect for both kids and adults. The different levels of the garden that allowed sunshine or shade and enough room to have your own space. Thoughtfully laid out to allow quite relaxation. The great barbecue and outdoor dining area which we used every day. The nearby water sport availability ie paddle boards and canoes, but not too busy to be a nuisance for swimmers or for noise. The beach bar on the doorstep to the right, friendly and reasonably priced. Although there are no shops on the site there is a supermarket selling most of what you need for a self catering holiday within 5 minutes of the villa. Overall, the whole family rated our holiday at this villa as excellent.

Wonderful Home with beach access

The best part about this place is the outdoors: many quiet places to recline and a lot of space, and there’s a beautiful outdoor dining and living room area, as well as a faull outdoor barbecue kitchen. It’s quite a few stairs to the beach, so, if anyone in your group has mobility issues, be advised, but there’s a beautiful area down there with chaise lounges to relax above the beach. The beach is gorgeous, it does get a bit crowded with the two campgrounds on either side, but if you take a swim first thing in the morning, you’ll have it all to yourself and it could not be more gorgeous!!! It is a pebble beach so if your feet are tender, make sure to bring your water shoes. We really appreciated that there were two places to get food and drinks so close by and we loved buying fresh bread in the mornings from the bread man. Overall, it was fantastic stay. I will say that two of the downstairs bedrooms were quite musty, and because it was so hot when we were there, we weren’t able to leave the doors and windows open (had to use ac) so the mildew smell was pretty strong. One of the air conditioners upstairs was not working when we were there and it was quite warm at night. The indoor kitchen is a little bit small and really only one person can comfortably work, so if you are a gourmet plan on doing a lot of outdoor grilling! The upstairs bedrooms with the en suite bathrooms are spectacular, very roomy, and the bathrooms are beautiful. The property managers are lovely.

Gorgeous two weeks

The house is really nice, in very good shape and well equipped. What made our 2 weeks there outstanding was the large terrace, the very large shady garden, the direct access to the beach, barbecueing and cooking in the outdoor kitchen. The bay is beautiful, however quite busy during high season in August. But you do not need to spend much time there: just a few stairs and you are in your private garden with sea view. If you want it more quiet, you move up to a higher level of the garden and find a hammock or sun lounger there to relax in peace and quiet. We also enjoyed many table tennis matches there. We were 8 adults in the house (3 couples and 2 singles). There are 5 bedrooms in the house: 2 on the upper floor, generously spaced, each with its private bathroom and access to the balcony. The 3 bedrooms on the ground floor share one bathroom (however, there is an additional shower including hot water and a toilett a few steps outside the terrace). They are quite small, each with a double bed, wardrobe and dresser. With the furniture there is little else room to move inside. But since one spends most of the time outside, this was not a problem for me. But other people might have other needs. So you better discuss with your group beforehand who will be happy with a small bedroom. Joseph, the host, is super quick and precise answering all questions before and during our stay. Meri, the property manager, is very friendly and helpful when it comes to fixing minor problems.

Mismanaged, waterlogged and infested by mosquitoes

Property manager Meri did not meet us at the villa she simply left key in a drawer for us, despite us being on time for check in. Meri washed inside and outside with a garden hose. Thus, we could not use downstairs bathroom or terrace for the rest of the day due to large puddles of water. Shower rooms don’t have flexible shower-heads, common to most bathrooms in EU, that makes cleaning bathrooms an impossible task. Parking is under 8m tall walnut trees that drop walnuts the size of chicken egg which leave big dents on your car. One safe spot to park is next to trash bins, for one car. During heavy rain the front door leaked creating large puddle inside, the spiral staircase windows leaked so badly it wet all stairs and dripped onto the first floor. Collected water with towels. The corner of the living room leaked badly and small brown river formed across the living room, we had to keep cleaning with towels squeezing them into a bucket. No one from management came the next day to clean, collect dirty towels or even assess the damage. Property has two large bedrooms the rest are too small. Aircon is broken in one of two large bedrooms and effort to fix it resulted in nothing. We slept in a hot room for 3 nights, then were saved by cooler weather. Downstairs bathroom smells like sewer. Outside bathroom unusable, it was dirty and smelled. Property is waterlogged and it creates a lot of mosquitoes that were not present anywhere during our vacation except at Villa Kustra.

Schöner Urlaub

Der Aufenthalt war schön! Wie schon in den vorherigen Bewertungen kann man nur sagen, dass der Garten ein Traum ist. Meri, die Ansprechpartnerin vor Ort, ist immer erreichbar und erledigt alles, wenn Probleme auftreten sollten. Wir waren insgesamt 10 Personen. Für die Anzahl an Menschen ist das Haus super. Die Küche allerdings ist dafür nicht sehr geräumig.Schade ist, dass für die ganzen liegen im Garten keine Auflagen vorhanden sind. Das hätten wir definitiv anders erwartet. Genauso sollte man wissen, dass Haus steht sozusagen in einem Campingplatz. Für uns war das super weil auch teenies dabei. Dadurch ist der Strand aber immer sehr voll. Hat uns aber nicht gestört, wir lagen ja in unserem Garten. Alles in allem ein schöner Urlaub mit ein paar kleinen Anmerkungen

Tolle Location mit super Ausblick

Toller Urlaub in diesem tollen Objekt mit großer überdachter Terrasse am Haus. Weitere Terrassen mit vielen Liegestühlen, Tischtennisplatte und Hängematten. Unbezahlbarer Ausblick von der Terrasse oberhalb des Strandes. Natürlicher Schatten durch großen Baumbestand auf dem Grundstück. Wunderschöne Bucht, glasklares Wasser, tolle Strandbar direkt nebenan. Es hat alles gepasst!

Einfach perfekt

Wir verbrachten mit 10 Personen zwei Wochen in diesem traumhaft gelegenen Haus. Das Haus fanden wir in tadellosem Zustand vor und es ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Zwei sehr schöne Masterbedrooms mit tollen Bädern im 1. OG lassen keine Wünsche offen. Die kleineren Schlafzimmer im Erdgeschoss erfüllen gut ihren Zweck und sind z. B. für Kinder perfekt. Alle voll klimatisiert - sehr angenehm. Die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Die Lage des Hauses ist ein Traum... über die (z.T. recht steilen) Treppen gelangt man an die wunderbare Bucht von Mokalo Beach mit sehr sauberem und klarem Wasser. Sehr gepflegter, sauberer Strandabschnitt mit angenehmem Publikum (Familien). Die Strandbar und das Restaurant sind beide sehr zu empfehlen. Im parkähnlich angelegten Garten sind ausreichend Liegen und Hängematten zu finden. Tischkicker und Tischtennisplatte begeisterten unsere Kinder. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in ca. 3 km. Wir fanden absolute Entspannung und verbrachten einen traumhaften Urlaub dort. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!!

TOP!! PERFEKTE Ferien!!

Ein absolutes Schmuckstück; schlicht PERFEKT und einfach nur schön. Mit 4 Kindern das perfekte Haus mit einem Garten und direktem Zugang zum Meer. Dieses Objekt lässt wirklich keine Wünsche offen (viel Platz und super eingerichtet). Wir kommen sehr gerne im nächsten Jahr wieder. Vielen Dank, dass wir dieses Haus mieten durften. Die perfekten Ferien!!!
