Heart of the Redwoods-HOPE Cottage

"Host was helpful and good to communicate with. The house was just what we needed for our stay. The location is fantastic to the redwoods hiking we did, and going to Trinidad for groceries and a meal was fun.The kitchen is awesome and the bedrooms were cozy and the layout was great. Sitting in the backyard at the big picnic table was a nice place for morning coffee. The fireplace in the family room made for nice warm evenings together as a family. Thank you for your hospitality :)"

Beautiful Cottage in the Heart of the Redwoods

"The Ken(u) Cottage was perfect for our small family reunion (3 of us) for 5 days. The Host was so accommodating, helpful and easy to communicate with. The cottage is beautifully decorated and everything you might need is there, with the exception of your food, drinks, clothing. There is a washer and dryer available, and they will also provide needs for a baby/small child (like highchair and other items) check with them on that. It's pet friendly, I believe it's up to 3 dogs. They must be under your control, particularly because of wildlife in the area. We didn't encounter that during our stay. It's located central to most visited locations in northern California. Very convenient. It felt like we were at home. This cottage has 3 bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a sofa with a pull-out bed. Staying here will always be a highlight of our trip. We highly recommend Heart of the Redwoods!We visited the Trees of Mystery, several stops with areas of historic sites and points of interest, like a WWII Radar Station, the Hoopa Valley, we dined at the Sunset Grill, the Seaquake Brewery in Crescent City, breakfast at Toni's in Arcata, off track from the normal we crossed from Hoopa to the coast via Bald Hills Road (beautiful sunsets above the clouds. So much more to see in this area!"

"A lovely place to stay close to all the places we wanted to visit. Even got a birthday morning surprise visit from the elk - quite a treat! Hot water, comfy beds, all the supplies we needed and host even offered additional items since we traveled with a baby. Hope to return again!"
FARM HOUSE ON ACREAGE IN THE REDWOODS

"We loved many things about this home: a 1st floor bedroom, large kitchen and living room, enough upstairs rooms for everyone, and a well decorated home. Some things we weren't expecting: cold floors (and feet) since only space heaters were provided and driving through a 'messy' neighborhood to get to the house. A fireplace was available for our use but we did not want to mess with it and we do not keep space heaters plugged in while we are gone (fire hazard)... and we were told once we arrived there's no furnace.The 'messy' neighborhood was a bit scary for us since we are not used to junk in yards and dilapidated homes. On the backside of the home there is a more rural farm but you must drive through this messy neighborhood first. The entrance to this rental faces this neighborhood."

"Very comfortable, well equipped & nice decor & amenities. Location so convenient for exploring the Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park, Fern Canyon, Elk Meadows & Lady Bird trails. The delicious surprise of warm homemade bread was delightful! It was perfect for our hiking trip! Thank you!"
