The location is good and convenient for someone who enjoys being close to downtown. However, there is no parking facility, which can be a major inconvenience. There are four rooms sharing only one bathroom on the first floor, and it was not easy to manage, especially when the property was busy. Considering the services and facilities provided, the price per night is too expensive and does not feel reasonable. Unfortunately, I would not stay here again.

An amazing and kind human being who runs the swiss and the barefoot. the room was extremely clean and tidy and the bed was super comfortable. Shower was lovely and whole house was homey and beautiful to stay in. Felt very comfortable, relaxed, well taken care of, and rejuvenated the whole stay. Thank you so much.

My stay at Barefoot Inn was wonderful! You check in at the Swiss hotel next door and the owner, Sabina was so wonderful! We have the same name so that was 😊! She is so friendly and lovely!! Barefoot Inn was really nice to stay in for two nights. It was clean, warm, colorful and inviting. Bed was comfortable. Sheets and pillows were really nice and very clean. Room was stocked with towels as was the bathroom. Kitchen has everything you'd need, cups, plates, coffee, tea, there is a TV in the living room downstairs. it's walking distance to many of the Embassies in Ottawa so if you are coming to do any kind of consular business like passport renewal it's perfect. I also walked to the Parliament hill, then over the Alexandra bridge to Gatineau,QC. So it's at a great location. All in all, a lovely place to stay in!

The place smelled, the bedroom walls were filthy, and I was met by a front staff person who was very nice, and good at her job, but who insisted that I take off my shoes in a place that wasn't clean. They put an arbitrary quiet time of 10:00 pm, when the city's bylaw is 11:00 pm. And even though I'd paid for two nights, I found different accommodations for my second night in the city. It was not as advertised and some of the reviews I relied on could not have been true.
