Rustic “Litter Box”

There were many positives…location to water, dock right outside the cabin, beautiful lake(s), tv & Wi-Fi for down time, restaurant/fuel/bait/conveniences nearby, air conditioning. Cabin was very “rustic” with only the most basic kitchen essentials, cat scratched furnishings, worn bedding (no mattress pads on stained mattresses.) We definitely left the cabin cleaner than we found it (fridge, floors, counters) I could possibly stay again if I had the mindset that it was air conditioned camping if not for the bathroom. It strongly smelled like a litter box. There were cat paw marks on the back of the door so it was clear a cat had been shut in the bathroom. The urine odor was so overwhelming that we could barely stand to be in there with the door closed for more than a few minutes. It needs serious bleach products, kilz based paint on the walls & woodwork replaced, based on our flip home experiences. It’s the main reason we couldn’t stay again unless renovations/cleaning were done. We were scheduled for another stay & had to cancel based on the current state of the bathroom alone. The highlight was the friendliness of the onsite management & maintenance staff. They were very kind & helpful anytime we requested something! Restaurant next door had many fun events & food was good! Thanks Jill, Mike & all the staff!

Disappointed

This cabin needs a lot of TLC. Very old, has 3 AC units because you cannot open any of the windows, The patio door out to the plywood covered deck; not kid friendly, is the only option for fresh air. Microwave, oven, and coffee pot were not cleaned, and lots of cobwebs. Although the boat landing was quite convenient being next to the cabin, it was very shallow here and challenging hooking the boat up to the dock. Having a longer dock may be the answer. The bar had great food and service. The host of this property did the best she could to accommodate our needs.
