"We have never stayed in a cottage before so our expectations may have been different from others. We have camped in a RV for decades plus we have stayed in hotels and resorts before. I guess we weren’t sure what to expect, for example we thought someone might show up to tidy the place or at least ask if we needed anything. We had to go to the office but that was no big deal. I wanted to make sure my wife did not have to do too much so we had to drive about 15 minutes into Huntsville to find some restaurants which I knew in advance. Unfortunately Huntsville had some major construction work going on but we eventually found our way around. And before you say that we should have been prepared to cook and eat in the cottage i just wanted an experience somewhere between camping and staying at a hotel so yes i knew what we were getting ourselves into. I would definitely go back but earlier in the year so the temperature would be better. The place is located on a lake and only about a 40 minute drive to Algonquin provincial park where we spent a day at. Arrowhead provincial park is only a short drive north of Huntsville so the location of this place was spot on."

"Idlehour Cottage was just the place that we needed to relax and unwind, have some home-cooked meals with a kitchen that meets all your needs. The cottage is equipped with all you need for a wonderful stay. The fall foliage, beautiful water views, morning coffee down at the dock. Nice clean cottage with a host that responds within minutes. Can't wait to book again!"

"We were a family group of 10 and this 'cottage' had 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. Large dining area and a large sitting area. Kitchen was very good and pretty well equipped. Lots of kitchen storage and counter space for sure. There was a specific hot tub and a sauna for our unit plus a games room at the facility. All were good....other than the hot tub created suds/foam bubbles (lots of soapy bubbles) for some reason. Manager was not sure what was happening. Manager and his brother (assistant) were both very friendly and accommodating. Would return to Lakewoods for sure."

"The room was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful! The breakfast had a good variety and tasted good too. The exercise room was very tiny. it it’s not really a big deal. Overall it was a great stay"

"Everything was spotless. My level of clean. Super happy with the cleanliness of the stay. The outdoor section was beautiful, spacious and well maintained. The bed was amazing in the deer room. The pillows weren't great if I had anything to complain about. If the pillows were better I'd probably have the best sleep of my life. The bed felt brand new and in great shape. Everything was so thought out and accessible. The TVs are updated and the wifi is fast. For someone who needs to have everything when I travel, this place made me feel extremely comfortable. We felt bad having to go in and out to get our stuff from the car but the stairway and hallways are so quiet. Super sturdy and not squeaky. We will be back for sure. Thank you for hosting!"

"The place is very spacious and clean. We enjoyed the stay. The only thing is that there's no privacy screen for the washroom window and the washroom is facing the road. Location is good, 30 mins from the Algonquin provincial park West gate and 20 mins from Huntsville. Overall a good experience staying here."
