A private entrance leads you upstairs to the upstairs foyer.
Two spacious living rooms overlook the ocean with plenty of space for your party to enjoy. We offer our guests Netflix, Hulu, and over 800 iTunes movies. There are board games, poker, chess, and fun adult games such as "Cards Against Humanity" in the living room closet. The living rooms boast multiple couches/powered lounge for large families and groups that are looking to spread out With 65 inch 4K screen on 3 way swivel system above fireplace and 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos sound system in family-room, Sony HD Projector with 120 inch screen and Atlantic Technology System 450 Dolby 5.1 surround system in the theater room/bedroom with 4K Apple TV, and a 4kTV/Apple TV in the master;downstairs bedroom boasts a new 65 inch Samsung TV/4K Apple TV. Most rooms also have DirecTV. Bluettooth enabled. Our kitchen features a huge SubZero fridge/freezer with all of the space you ask for. All appliances including toaster, oven, stovetop, steamer, coffeemaker, microwave available.
The deck features teak lounge chairs, a teak rocker and side table for breakfast with a sea view. The deck is on the beach through the backyard staircase. Starting new gardens in the back on the expansive lot and there are an indoor dog cage and large dog run with doghouse available for your dogs! The main bedroom features high ceilings with a skylight to illuminate your mornings, a powered tempurpedic bed with an HD TV with Apple TV. The upstairs beds are California king Tempur-pedic mattresses for your sleeping pleasure with pull out full bed in the couch in the master. The closet offers enough room for those guests that like to overpack :) and large families.
The second bedroom also boasts a California King. The room has a large projection screenDownstairs bedrooms are California king and a luxurious double twin with full baths one with 55 inch HDTV.
Full wash room with Washer and Dryer and iron and ironing board are available for guests.

Guest access

Boogie-boards, surfboard, skimboard, and bikes available upon request. Helmets (mandatory) are provided.The dunes provide plenty of space for all members of the family to enjoy, and Oxnard Shores is famous for being a very spacious beach that feels, at times, like it's your private beach. Volleyballs, basketballs and soccer balls for use in beach parks.

The guests will have access to the entire upstairs portion of the house. There are 3 bedrooms downstairs, one is not for guests, but for our personal use, Oxnard only allows us 100 days for short term rentals , so the family uses it when it is not rented.
Downstairs guests are welcome to use the laundry and enter the house through the side door or garage. The downstairs bedrooms each have own full baths and are guest friendly with sound and or video systems. The guests have access to the backyard,and extra-large dog run.

Interaction with guests

We plan to give you as much space as you desire but will be immediately available throughout your stay. In the master bedroom, you will find a binder with restaurant recommendations of various price ranges, unique day trips, and a list of our favorite local treats like the farmer's market. We love Oxnard shores and the tight-knit community it offers, and are very happy to show you around. With that said, there are plenty of bike paths, local parks and beaches for you to discover as a family or on your own.
We will also provide information about day trips to Santa Barbara and LA and things to do.
Other things to note:
Venture over to the farmer's market on Sundays from 10 am to 2 pm.Strawberry Festival every year in May.
Camarillo Airport sponsors Airshow every year. Float Plane getaway every year.Numerous boat trips to visit Islands for a day or overnight backpacking, fishing trips and whale watching. Dolphins and the occasional whale can be seen surfing from the house.House, but mostly Goverment, Rules:

First, please be accurate when making your Reservation!
As we have posted previously we need to know number of adults, number of children including their ages and any special needs. Our house has survived three children of our own but does have several steep stairs. We recommend that you use the side entrance (really the “front” but it faces the thankfully wide “view easement “. All children MUST wear appropriate helmets for bicycling and we provide several mostly adult sizes, so you may need to procure one. Bicycling supplies and helmets are available for rent including family cruisers at the hotel just beyond the park and visible from the street and the Master Bedroom to the Southeast. Both Marinas, one in each direction also have bike rentals and sales.

Only 3 cars are uallowed by Oxnard and Ventura County Regulations. And cars MUST be parked in driveway. No street parking and no parking in garage. We easily fit more.

Any pets must be disclosed on making the reservation. Failing that as soon as you know they are coming!
Regulations (and,sadly, experience) limit us to only two dogs. They must be house broken and you are liable for additional cleaning charges if needed for accidents. We have a large dog run with dog house consisting of six foot high chain link 6 x 22 feet long. The upper deck is also fenced and gated but very small dogs could get out and larger dogs jump it if they are very daring as stairs are on other side.
Dogs MUST have current shots, be on leash at ALL TIMES. We recommend you use leash to clip the dog gates shut. Locks can be supplied on request!

Cats and other pets on a case by case basis.

Use of bicycles and beach toys are at your own risk.

Please lock bicycles, surfboards, wetsuits and other equipment and cloths etc. in garage or outside closet beside side door. This is great neighborhood but people are always going to the beach and unguarded and unlocked bicycles and expensive custom surfboards are very tempting. We provide bicycle locks and adult helmets. Helmets are required. Rentals available at both Marinas and at very nearby hotel just on other side of Park, visible from house.

The house has not been child proofed recently-our youngest is over 6 feet and 21 years old! The only real child proofing are vigilant parents. Ok, speaking as father I really mean a vigilant mother. We dads are good for chasing off bears and maybe putting in child proofing. But mom caught decreased fetal movement saving the Jacob.Though much of house is still child proof, parents should be aware of speakers some of which are bookshelf or floor standing and not bolted down. Large dolphin and whale bronzes are glued or bolted down to their stand and the stand bolted to the floor. But not so strong that they can be climbed on! Cabinets under sinks have child proof system but other drawers and shelves ARE NOT AND MAY HAVE LIQUIDS OR OTHER SUBSTANCES DANGEROUS TO CHILDREN LIKE CLEANING SOLUTIONS , small objects that can be swallowed like monopoly pieces that could obstruct a little airway.

The downstairs bathroom in hallway is being used as storage so please don’t use.
The kitchen, washroom and garage are particularly deserving of special consideration but with COVID now alcohol based solutions of 70% and greater are strategically placed throughout house, a double edged sword.
We are very dog and cat friendly home. Costs for cleaning the carpet are not unreasonable but we all want to avoid them if possible!!! We therefore recommend that dogs be crated when your attention is elsewhere. We need to be sensitive to our neighbors. They are home and want peace and quiet. Oxnard mandates quiet time after 10 pm and no outside radios for guests.

Short term guests can not use outside speakers or boom boxes (Sorry!)

After 10 pm is quiet time.The fireplaces should be started with very long matches. The gas line barely cracked so no hair singed. Please talk to me before using it for the first time.

Please keep garage closed when not using it.



Front stairs are steep and tile hard so we recommend using side stairs and inside carpeted stairs instead please.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CHANGE WIRING OR PROGRAMMING OF MUSIC and video systems. You can fry them! And last guest did! Also please don’t turn volume all the way up. System is tricky because we are used to static and distortion to tell us we are getting loud but really good systems don’t get distortion like that often until your close to levels that can fry systems.

Lastly an oceanfront house is like a ship on the ocean. It requires continuous maintenance. We try to do this when we have no guests but often contractors get delayed, items ordered months in advance still arrive late or the roof springs a leak. So please be understanding if some work isn’t as complete as we would like or some repair or maintenance work occurs during your stay.Believe me we are even more appalled than you are!
An almost new home has just had its window hardware removed-its rusted shut so owner is pulling windows shut by hand then locking them closed.
We just replaced all are windows less than two years ago-and the stainless steel is rusting, severely in some places. The windows do have lifetime warranty, my lifetime,not the windows. Will see if they honor it. Generally all warranties are null and void within if house within 3 miles of the sea!!! We just replaced the front stairs-twice. But the waves are fabulous.
