"One of the best and most memorable hotel experiences I’ve had. The property is stunning , it feels part luxury hotel, part art museum, with beautiful artwork and sculptures everywhere you look. Everything from the rooms to the amenities and service was top-notch and exactly what you'd expect in a 5-star stay.
The hotel gem is the spa. Reportedly the largest in Central America, it had excellent facilities (sauna, steam room, mud treatment, salt pools, etc.), treatments and service. The three restaurants were also excellent.
I also appreciated that so much of the staff are local, and you can tell the hotel is an important and valued part of the community. The valley itself is magical, with lots of hiking and nature activities to do in the day before returning to relax at the hotel. I didn’t expect to love this place as much as I did, I'll definitely be back!"
"Excelente propiedad para alojarse. Muy buena ubicación con amenidades como cancha de paddle, mesa de billar y juegos de mesa. Nos volveríamos a hospedar aquí. Había una competencia de caballos en el hotel y disfrutamos verla"
"The shower head leaked and I reported it right away. After multiple reminders it was never repaired during my 4 day stay. No wash clothes were offered either."
"Amazing grounds! GOLDEN FROG is right up against a hill with clouds coming in in the morning. Ample breakfast, Grazing Trail nearby and it is possible to walk to town. I lived it! The Family Suite was perfect for my son and I."
"Excelente propiedad, instalaciones limpias, completamente equipadas, la comunicación con el staff siempre fue oportuna. Los chicos que se encontraban alrededor de las villas siempre muy dispuestos a ofrecer ayuda. Espectacular vista al mar. Definitivamente volveríamos. Muy recomendado"
"Like others say, this place has so much potential but fails currently! The few good things - the bed was comfortable, the pool is nice, the beach view when the tide is in is great. The hotel is older and needs repair, the grounds need upkeep. Sidewalks, paths and stairs were dirty and had branches, leaves and large puddles of water to walk thru. The white stairs were steep and wet. Breakfast was supposed to be included but there is no breakfast menu and when we asked what was for breakfast, we were told omelets, coffee, juice, & bread. So we ordered 2 cheese omelets with mushrooms and onions only, bread & juice. My husband didn't eat his omelet because it came loaded with green peppers too. When we went to checkout, we were charged $28 for breakfast! She said free breakfast was continental - bread & coffee or tea only! She wouldn't relent when I told her the waiter said it was omelets, there's no menu or sign explaining it, nor when I said our order was wrong and we barely ate any of it. The staff is the biggest problem here - especially the older woman who appears to be the owner or manager. She was not welcoming or friendly at all - she tried to say we didn't have a reservation until I showed it to her on my phone and although they have a restaurant on-site, she told us we should go next door for dinner - which we did and it was great! I wish we had stayed there instead - it was cheaper too! It's sad, this could be such a wonderful place with just a few simple changes!"
